NBA Fans over the last few months: LeBron could take less money and go to Houston with CP3 and Harden and really compete with GSW. That'd be awesome.

NBA Fans today: I can't believe Cousins has the audacity to take less money to go to the GSW. What a coward and a joke.

The insurance against another OKC finals appearance is all I care about until the Sonics exist again, so I fully support these other Western Conference teams becoming ridiculously loaded.

I have never claimed to be an NBA expert by any stretch, but what is LeBron thinking with going to LA. He has about a 2% chance of winning a title there and I think that might be generous. He could have gotten similar money almost anywhere he signed, so what am I missing?

Yeah, I'm mostly out of the NBA loop, but subsequent to the LeBron signing and prior to the Cousins-GSW signing yesterday, Lakers were listed at 4-1 to win the NBA Finals next year.

strange observation of the day:

So, this summer, we're making our soon to be 15 year old daughter watch a bunch of 80s movies with the parents. Stuff like Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Breakfast Club, Airplane... you get the idea.

We fired up The Naked Gun late last week. One I still enjoy far too much. It's sort of amazing how dated most of the references are though... except one.

Who would have thought that of all the semi-obscure people that made a random cameo appearance, Weird Al Yankovic would be the one that she recognizes as a contemporary?

Weird Al has aged quite well and looks great for someone pushing 60, but I'm definitely surprised to hear that a teenager knows who he is.

I went to a concert of his once upon a time in a rinky-dink theater near where I grew up, and it still stands out as one of the best performances I've seen. Dude works his ass off onstage. Unfortunately it was before Bad Hair Day, so there was no Alternative Polka.

Yes.

I pretty much stick to e-mailing or texting people on their birthdays anymore if I won't be seeing them in person. If I don't have that contact info then our relationship is probably too non-existent for it to matter to them if I offer my well-wishes anyway.

I would agree about glow, but I think that's the fact there's more story than just catty girlfights

Tried the show for the first time since 15. Pretty disappointing overall. Everything feels slow and clunky and I just get annoyed playing it

Marc Maron is great in this role. Alison Brie seems to genuinely be loving it. She even had a #kayfabe in one of her Instagram posts.
