To KISS.fm's credit, when I won a year's supply of free ice cream, they had a truck pull up to my apartment and said "take as much as you want"

If I could've fit 500+ chocolate/vanilla ice cream cups into my freezer, I'd have done it, but alas, I had to settle for 200.

Koko has died.

In related news, TIL that Koko was still alive. Didn't realize quite how long gorillas live.

Oh ****, based on the thread, I thought you meant Koko B Ware after seeing the preview of the post in the app.

He may not be a worthy HOFer, but I'll probably refrain from breaking that story in the OT thread.

Haha, I did too, and then thought that calling him a gorilla was maybe a bit over the line.

I think I would quite like gorillas.

I've still got Krueger as the best boss on Seinfeld.

Like this, this is not how to do the Narrator meme. This thing is spiraling out of control.

The "Narrator:" bit is supposed to be a direct rebuttal to someone asserting a false premise. It doesn't work to answer a question. It doesn't work to settle an either/or. You can't just use it anytime you feel like it.

Yeah I had the same reaction. Picking on Bayless feels like low-hanging fruit, but that editing is tremendous.

Lol amazing. Seeing as I had to put up with Bayless for years before ESPN came calling, that's great to see

There are few things sadder and cringier than the comments section of a social media post where an attractive woman posts any picture at all of herself.

People getting tilted by two women kissing is probably sadder.

Anti-LGBT types have already lost the war and been pushed to the fringes with no reasonable hope of return. Hard not to just shrug at them at this point.

(I realize that I should also just shrug at the thirsty dudes in the comments sections of women's pictures, but the sheer number of them aggressively jumping to the front of the line to debase themselves never ceases to surprise me at least a little.)

Social media can be pretty painful. I'm not really keen on the whole showing off aspect of it, even though I understand why people naturally want to present themselves in the best way possible.

Yeah, I used to post frequently on Facebook, which I find regrettable in hindsight. I see my prior posts and I facepalm, not because almost any of them were necessarily offensive (thankfully very few were), but because I was just posting the most mundane **** ever and I cringe at the fact that I would have taken up space in other people's feeds with anything so boring. Obviously this is/was totally standard FB behavior, but at some point I gathered some self-awareness.

I would just delete my account now, except that I still have friends who use it for social invitations. I do use the News Feed Eradicator extension for Chrome that keeps me from ever spending any time in the rabbit hole beyond just quickly checking on occasion for messages/notifications.

I've never heard of that New Feed Eradicator, but holy **** has it just changed my life.

Having not watched LU, I can't opine either way on this recommendation, but it occurred to me - with my Lapsed Fan chronological listen hitting the Montreal Screwjob - that one of the great behind-the-scenes documentaries about wrestling might be the most effective way to hook a non-fan.

Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows

Beyond the Mat

The Resurrection of Jake the Snake is also really good, but not on YT. It was still on Netflix last I knew.

I know that people say that the best documentaries are those that start out as mundane and then something truly unexpected happens, but man, Wrestling with Shadows takes that to a whole nother level.

Without the screwjob, what is even the point of that doc? Sad man doesn't make money he is promised and leaves job for another? Super exciting!

Not only that, but apparently he had wrapped filming prior to the Survivor Series and only came back once Bret called him up to let him know that he was finishing his WWF career. The ending was never planned to even include Bret leaving the company.

The behind-the-scenes access would still be interesting no matter what given how far out of the norm it was at that time, but I agree that the story is practically non-existent without the screwjob.

It has become obvious to me by now that my pessimism is actually being disproven, which I'm obviously quite happy about. I don't know if it will amount to more than just a play-in wildcard game, but it does seem likely that we finally break the considerable playoff drought this year.
