make a bunch of pumpkin flavored foods and then have a pumpkin out for Halloween OR have pumpkins out for Halloween and then use those pumpkins to make a bunch of pumpkin flavored food.

Well, it's a different celebration, to be fair. Ours celebrates the end of (or close to the end of) harvest, while American Thanksgiving celebrates the rape and pillage of a nation of peoples.

On behalf of Washington State University, I apologize that we didn't keep the Washington Huskies from sullying the college football playoffs with their presence, and we extend our sincerest best wishes to Colorado or USC in hopefully succeeding where we have shamefully failed. The college football playoff is still in its infancy, and it does not need the black mark of being reluctantly forced to include the University of Washington on its invitation list. Godspeed to the eventual Pac-12 South Champion; you are our last hope.

I'm still watching. But the whole magic of being WSU and not being UW is that we historically keep it real, whereas they're a bunch of delusional dickheads who are the Alabama college football program entirely in their own minds. I went into this game expecting that a loss was likely, acknowledging that they unfortunately have the better team this year by a non-negligible margin, and a better team who is up by 25 is the victor a pretty overwhelming percentage of the time.

The game was fantastic, enjoyed it thoroughly. My rating is 10/10.

I sure hope the 2-9 AZ Wildcats can pull out a victory at home tonight...

I feel like The Flintstones and that song from The Grinch are the only two places that the word "heel" gets used to describe a bad guy outside of wrestling. At least within the product itself; I know that "heel turns" get referenced in movies etc.

I seem to remember hearing a posh-sounding British aristocrat use it to mean villain in a movie or two, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

I really don't know why I bother with college football. There is absolutely no chance that my mood is improved more often than it is dampened by it. It is unlike pro sports, because evil always ultimately prospers. The only rational reaction would be to leave it behind, especially because, unlike pro sports, even if I lived for 100 more years I will still definitely never once see my team win it all. But I'm going to continue to watch it.

As miserable as it is to see UW desecrate the college football playoffs, hopefully they can at least draw Alabama first, so that a season that objectively can only be called a rousing success on their end can still end in an emphatic and decisive defeat. It's the least the sport owes me at this point.

I was just saying to my friend the other day that we might want to root for the Rams to finish the year strongly just to increase the chances of a Fisher extension, but these dolts have just done it again anyway, so I guess I can forget that thought. I love, love, love having Fisher coach in my team's division, even though they do tend to give us a hard time in individual games.

Snow is the weather's version of that heel who departs to a chorus of boos and then, months later, gets a predictably irrational face pop upon return.
