It's a good day. Not only do OKC fans lose their star player, but they lose him on a beloved holiday to the city that they just collapsed against. That's gotta leave a mark.

I think the breathless proclamations about how great and supportive the OKC fanbase is will go away when their arena is suddenly empty for most games in a couple of seasons. Pretty easy to fill the arena when being gifted a team that was almost instantly a contender based on inherited players.

Well, this about guarantees that I will have a favorite team in contention in the NBA (namely whomever is playing Golden State in the playoffs). Noting against Golden State or the players personally, but I usually gravitate against the dynasty or potentially dynasty. And in this case Golden State is the epitome of the poor style of basketball the NBA created over time slowly via rule changes by giving distance shooting ability such overwhelming importance. Much more fun watching guys drive and slash and struggle in the paint than take deep jumpers over and over.

I like the Warriors' marquee players a lot. There will always be a barrier keeping me from being very enthusiastic about them though, with them being a Bay Area squad. As a lapsed Sonics fan I'm very fond of Nate McMillan, so I suppose him coming here to Indiana would make me slightly more willing to support the Pacers.

Lol, basketball is more broken now than ever before. Rigged so hard.

I don't know the most correct order of sports months, but I do know that it ends with

.
.
.
11. August
12. July

I think February comes in a solid #10. Or at least it did until the NFL decided to milk more money by pushing the Super Bowl back to the first week in Feb.

Yeah, was going to say the same about February. Broadening the conversation from sports to everything, February has to be #12. The holidays are over, the weather is still awful...it's a terrible month.

For everything, February is #12, but March is a close #11. Weather a little warmer, but you often get that 35 degree rain that is far worse than snow could ever be (speaking mostly for myself in New England). Also you look at the calendar and see no holidays until Memorial Day. Ugh.

Once in a while you get lucky with a March that legitimately warms up to mid-fall levels, which helps. Personally I prefer 50 degrees to anything north of 80. I would still agree about it being #11, but at least sports does take an upturn with the college hoops tournament.

I'd have a hell of a time taking Arizona weather in the summer, though the "dry heat" thing is still nice. Sticky Midwest air in the heat is very unpleasant.

I just saw an o/u line on GS Warriors wins for next year. It claimed to be from a LV book. The number was 68.5. You almost have to bet the under just because the number is so high.

Not to change the subject, but my 2+2 acct. appears to have been hacked. After I made the above post, I saw I had a PM. Since I had asked people to PM me in a different thread, I eagerly opened only to see it was from some guy trying to get connected with "me" to complete a trade of about $4,500. I PMed him right back to tell him not to trade. Should I open a new acct and have this one locked? Or is there something else I should do? I already changed my password.

Except they will do it. Aren't they like one of the first sports team in history to open as a favorite against the entire league to win the championship? I believe I saw them at 2-3 odds

On a side note, he did use DWetzel as a reference for the guy. So there's that.

I don't really know the answer, but I would post in ATF about it.

Yes, they are. The best teams seem start at at least +300 to win. For the NFL, the best odds are the Pats are +600.

Bovada has GSW at -125 to win.

Seems like it would be nearly impossible for an NFL team to start a year with that kind of line. Single-elimination playoffs just creates too much opportunity for the best team to go down. NBA is a lot lower-variance.

Feb is no where near the bottom of the list.

It's the last month of College Basketball before the tourneys start so there's some great conference games.
