Holy **** that's a good post.

Dusty Baker teams would eat up outs with pointless bunts even with nobody on. People who were too slow to beat out even a great bunt like Neifi Perez and Paul Bako (backup catcher) would try to bunt for hits. I suppose at least then the slow runners wouldn't 'clog up the bases', but why not just keep them in the dugout and ask the ump to give you the out for free?

I don't play MLB but I'm surprised they haven't done this since it was a huge draw for the NBA 2K games for a few years. It was great, they even added screen effects to make it seem like you were watching on a TV from the time.

Somehow I continually forget to guard against that because suicide squeezes are so damn rare in real life, but the stupid bunt gets down successfully every time.
Have had exactly 0 of these happen in over 100 games. I am playing on HOF though so maybe they stop? That sounds weird

Also, whats the deal with people celebrating July 4th on July 3rd? I guess I could understand if like the 3rd was a Saturday and the 4th a Sunday, but wtf?

I do hear fireworks going off outside. I dunno. I'm going to a BBQ for it tomorrow, didn't hear about anything for tonight.

Idiots somewhere vaguely in our neighborhood thought Fourth of July was like Hanukkah apparently, they've been setting stuff off since last weekend. If there was a god they'd have blown themselves up by now, but alas.

It was a Friday, so just an excuse to milk the holiday even more (we had fireworks on Thursday as well). Watching fireworks sitting on a blanket on the ground in a crowd for hours is a close second to standing and cheering on a parade for hours for most-hated holiday activities.

There were people using blankets and chairs and even tape to mark off their areas for the parade tomorrow. Cannot believe people actually respect some ******* dropping chairs off as a stake on the spot. Also can believe anyone wants to see a parade that badly

I do not understand how parades are still a thing.

Three things.

1. Ugh my manager keeps putting me in as a pinch hitter during long hitting streaks where I inevitably fly out.

2. I'm quite sure I haven't drawn a walk now 40 games into my first season.

3. How often do you Sim games in rtts, and how often do you play them?

I only play instead of simming, but my focus is more on playing a Mariners season rather than RTTS. I do have a RTTS that I drop in on now and then.

On the walk thing, it's definitely a challenging hitting interface. It took me a while to develop the plate discipline to swing at way less. I ran one of the drills in the game a number of times to help me on that.

Had an lkj at subway moment. Tried asking the guy at the rec how to go about borrowing one of their basketballs. He says "20 bucks ought to do it". We then stand there in awkward silence for 3 seconds which felt like an hour as he clearly waits for validation of his great joke. I just want a ****ing ball *******

Well, happy 4th everyone. If something terribly negative happens to you today, just react like your blissfully ignorant American hero would:

Pro tip: owning a shirt/tie/outfit you only can wear on a certain holiday is a fish maneuver. Maybe an exception for Christmasy ties you can at least where most of December.

Wearing USA flag ties is in fashion 365 days of the year.

They have a parade in a neighboring neighborhood here where they block off a main road the day before. Traffic through there is bad enough as it is without having to detour around.

So, there's this video of a blind kid playing football that everybody's sharing on FB. My thoughts on the video aside, nobody commenting realizes that the video is from 2006 and are responding to it in present tense. IE: He's going to get killed out there.

That grinds my gears more than anything.

Cano finally hitting well since he got put on blast ITT. I'm fully aware that the end of that contract will be painful, but at least there are indications that he's still got something left in the tank.

Anyone experienced with the latest in the GTA franchise? I haven't played any GTA since Vice City for the PS2. Has it advanced by a ton two generations later?

Yes GTA V is world's ahead of Vice City.

That being said, it's a 100% buy

It was a really bad booking botch. Vince thought it would be better to have him win the title at Wrestlemania at the biggest stage and that doing it this way would have him even hotter by that time.

Snap buy GTA 5. You will be blown away at how much it has advanced since VC.

Thanks guys, figured there was a good chance I would hear that.

Not only a championship match, but a championship match with a stipulation that if he didn't win the title, he would never get another rematch against this champion.

Acting happy was a way of keeping the appearance of a happy ending to SummerSlam; they generally didn't make a habit of unhappy endings when there were only 4-5 PPVs per year. That said, this was obviously really stupid and they should have just pulled the trigger and given Luger a chance with the belt right then.

Snap-bought after work, about to play it now.

Seemed like a better use of my evening than watching Raw.
