Meh, the only things I play are MLB and Halo, so I already feel like a turd for buying an Xbone for just one game. Maybe ill sell it for half price and get the ps4 tho, the show is my all time fav

Yeah, I'm pretty excited, I haven't played MLB The Show at all and I know that it gets consistently elite reviews. I basically haven't had a baseball video game that I've been able to really enjoy since the Ken Griffey Jr. game for the N64.

Playstation's exclusive lock on the Final Fantasy franchise was my other motivator. I think they used to have exclusive rights to GTA as well, but that obviously stopped being the case long ago.

I would have bought GTA with the system if not for MLB The Show, but I wanted the baseball game. I'm sure I'll order Madden by the start of football season also, just because it's a next-generation upgrade. Unfortunately EA is lazy as **** with their games and barely add anything from one year to the next.

Is that another one of those games where you go around shooting enemies and stuff? I can play those (I have The Last of Us on my screen right now), but they're not really my primary thing.

Oh, I see that it's a Batman game. Well Batman isn't really a guy who uses guns, so that might change it a bit. Just feels like a lot of these games come out of that same template.

Another sports series I enjoy is the NBA 2k series. So good. The My Player mode or whatever is fantastic. I wish Madden would do something similar.

It's certainly not great. It's the WWE of football video games, competition is non-existent so they 100% mail it in.

But I want a football game for my PS4, so odds are that I get suckered in and buy it. I liked the NCAA franchise better, but it seems to be dead or at least on indefinite hold because of the legal stuff.

I just cant even have fun with it anymore. Theres 11 guys on the field and you control 1, and the AI is terrible with the other 10. Its just a frustrating experience

I must say that I'm curious as to how terrible NHL 15 is. I mean, it's getting 2.5 stars out of 5 on Amazon, which given the incredibly stupid ways people rate things means that it's getting a completely awful rating (with 285 people weighing in). Like...it's the primary franchise for that sport. How can they be ****ing it up THAT badly?

It's EA though, so I believe it. I just hope they get it together and deliver with PGA Tour. I love a good golf video game.

I dont remember great maddens, but the game play was never legit terrible until they tried that new physiques engine like 3 years ago where everyone rag dolls all the time.

Also, we had to do individual presentations in this class, professor said to not go over 3 minutes because theres like 50 people and it would take forever. Obviously everyone else goes way over 3 minutes and its like 3 hours of pain

NFL 2K5 is the best football game ever, Madden is the nut low. Joe Montana Football 16 was just announced but there's no info on a publisher or a developer. It won't have an NFL license though so it's already fighting an uphill battle.

Sony don't have a lock on Final Fantasy any more but the number of great exclusives from third parties is already a lot higher than Xbox. I'm interested to see how MS is going to handle the Xbox brand as a whole the next couple of years. They have very little momentum at the moment and are spending money all over the place.

Ah, I see that you're right about Final Fantasy. Sick beat for XBox that they lost a 360 customer to Playstation partially over some reason that he just didn't know about. But actually MLB The Show was my primary motivator, so whatever.

Lack of NFL license definitely hurts an attempt at a competing brand. Stupid NFL and their exclusive contracts. They really must be getting paid boatloads of money by DirecTV to keep Sunday Ticket off-limits for most of us.

The current EA license is rumored to run out in 16/17 so it will be interesting to see if the NFL stays with an exclusive contract. EA will no doubt throw a lot of cash at them but Take Two is sitting on that GTA/NBA 2K money. It would be sweet justice if Madden shared the same fate as NBA Live.
