There are very few good gifs that have words on them.

I don't know why people are so comfortable using all of these bad gifs with words on them.

(Obviously JohnnyAceNo.gif is one of the very few good ones.)

My biggest pet peeve is the Ranier Wolfcastle thatsthejoke.jpg when it has the actual words.

I dunno, that one I don't mind. Without the words it's just an inside joke with people who remember a TV episode from multiple decades ago.

The rule is simple: If your gif response needs to explain itself to the person you're talking to, it's not a good gif response.

All Seinfeld and Simpsons quotes are above "inside joke" status

Yeah I can maybe go along with that.

I still like the time that Judy said that I sounded "quite racist" when I referenced a Simpsons episode.

I once saw this jpg used really well and thought it was an amazing reference.



But unfortunately far too much of the audience won't know WTF is being conveyed here.

I see that we have an Irridium Dog thread and that people are replying to it.

I'm pleased with this whole debacle too. I mean, Detroit definitely took it up the ass to a certain extent in the 4th quarter, but whatever, if I've learned anything it's that this is America and that a nation full of people are perfectly happy to root for the OKC Thunder against LeBron in the finals even while knowing that the Thunder's very existence is immoral. You get some temporary sympathy in the direct aftermath of the screwjob, and then everyone says "Anyway, lolz, I've got mine, gl dumbass."

In this case "I've got mine" means that the result gifted the Seahawks an easier second round opponent, so I'm happy.

I also enjoy it because it means Caldwell correctly got punished for being a massive coward. Garrett (I never thought I'd say he coached well, but he did) went for it on 4th and goal from the 1 and 4th and 6 from like the 45ish while Caldwell punted from 4th and 1 from midfield when a first down gives them a ton of win equity.

It's not like it's a surprise, as when the Lions hired him it was (correctly) met with many a lol because he still coaches football like it's 1984, but it's still nice to see someone get punished for terrible decisions.





As for the OKC thing, I'm torn on it. I really like Durant and Westbrook, but man there is nothing likable about normal people from Oklahoma. Or anything from there for that matter..

I'm fearing a Ravens/Seahawks SB now, which would make it three SBs I'm a row that I have zero interest in/disdain for. Awful matchup for the Pats, and I just can't see anyone beating Baltimore except Seattle from here on out, with their defense and Flacco SuperManning up as usual in the playoffs

Pats/Seahawks/Packers/Broncos seems like a pretty elite final 4

I like Kevin Durant as well, and very much look forward to him leaving OKC and going and playing anywhere else so that on the rare occasion that I watch the glorified olive oil company we colloquially refer to as the NBA, I can root for him.

Caldwell somehow fooled me into believing that he really was going to go for it when he had the Lions line up for it in that spot, but of course it was the "draw 'um offsides" nonsense that only works against the Browns.

It does, though odds are that one dog next weekend will find a way into it over one of those teams. Thankfully I don't think that I'm homering when I say that the Seahawks have to be the least likely favorite to get bounced next weekend though.
