What season thread was that? 4 maybe? Man, I may have gone off the deep end a little bit at times, but there were some serious mental deficients in that thread

The second-to-last full one I think? I dunno, I fled from the thread in terror and never looked back once it became 100% devoted to being a social responsibility debate thread. Also I didn't want people to figure things out and put them in my head in advance since I wanted to be blindsided by the show itself instead.

Keep in mind I mentioned another reason entirely and both were for not marathoning it. Also I have no idea what apoplectic means.

A distant friend literally deleted her Facebook account for her entire pregnancy then reactivated after and posted an offhand "btw I had a baby". Best social media pregnancy ever

overcome with anger; extremely indignant.
One of the greatest things I ever heard was when carpooling with a law school classmate and co-worker at the time, when I was talking about how terrible young mothers are on Facebook and how insistently I hide them. The following exchange ensued:

Him: "So, did you hide my wife?"
Me: <awkward pause> "Well...yes, but don't take that as me not liking your wife or something. I do like her."
Him: "...yeah I hid her from my feed too."

Dude absolutely loves his wife and kids too, but just proceeded to be like "yeah I don't need a play-by-play on everything our kid does all day. I'll hear it all after work when I get home anyway."

HUGE lol at anyone who wasn't on team Walt in BB. It's not real life.

I would comment more on Breaking Bad but I'm trying to protect PJ's virgin eyes from spoilers since he somehow quit way early on it.

Yeah that's pretty crazy. I watched from Episode 1 to s5e8 in less than a week.

Yeah I think it was midway through S3 that someone turned me onto it. Was home for Christmas on vacation and did nothing but marathon that until I was up on the show. I couldn't look away.

As long as you can avoid spoilers it's way more fun to discover a show several years into it, when you can just binge on it to catch up. I was quite disappointed to find out upon starting into True Detective that there were only like six episodes so far.

I would find that very hard to do with any show. I like to space it out with roughly 2 maybe 3 episodes a night. I just don't like binging that much on telly.

The most recent show was The Shield and that was at 3 episodes a day at most, powering in maybe 4 towards the series end.

Btw I didn't even dislike Skyler. I just cannot comprehend how someone could watch that show and not root for Heisenberg. Do you hate all the heels in wrestling too?

Fwiw I absolutely despised everything about Hank since his first appearance in episode 1 so that may have helped.

Actually i have always been a huge heel mark. I think the fact that BB is supposed to essentially take place in our universe leads me to not be team Walt (amongst other things like him being a giant asshat) (also, this is nothing on Cranston, he did the most amazing job of all time, and the fact he could get a noted villain lover like me [maleficent is my all time favorite Disney character] to hate the bad guy is something masterful in my eyes)

Hate Hank? WTF. Hank was my favorite. This website then said this about me:

I'm not going to cop to being a Republican or a misogynist, but regardless my friends were blown away by how accurate of a description it was.

Did you not root for Michael Corleone either?

Fair enough, can't really argue with that.

Though I wouldn't really call Walt the bad guy, he was more of an anti-hero imo. The bad guys were Tuco, Gus, Jack, Todd etc.

Spoiler:
I may be forgetting something but after his initial decision to start cooking meth there were only two of his actions that I strongly disagreed with, neither of which resulted in a death and one of which he rectified later that episode. In fact, I don't think he killed an innocent person the entire series (he didn't kill the people on that plane). You could argue Gale and Jane but Gale was still in the game and Jane was some random chick who was blackmailing him and leading his partner/friend onto hard drugs (plus he didn't actually kill either )

Hank was a huge douche. Colour me unshocked that he was LKJ's favourite character.

Edit - I did think he was a good character fwiw, I just didn't like him.

I haven't seen the wire, breaking bad, or sopranos. Loads of marathoning opportunity

I haven't seen most of The Wire myself. It's a big leak in my resume. I got through most of season one and then just kind of dropped off. It was very good but I'm pretty ADD (undiagnosed, but it seems obvious to me) and it's difficult for me to force myself to marathon a series like that one that demands my full attention on a constant basis or I'll miss out. I like TV as a multi-tasking activity rather than a singular devoted activity.

Also haven't seen most of the Sopranos. I feel less bad about that because I felt like I watched enough of it that it should have grabbed me and I just wasn't that impressed.

I quit The Wire after season 1. Sue me.

Edit - Yeah, I'm similar to LKJ here. I didn't dislike it or anything, just never got round to watching season 2 (although I did watch s2e1 now I think about it).

I'm the same with The Wire. I watched 6 episodes and it was doing absolutely nothing for me.

That's happened twice now. I just get bored constantly at this point and can't force my way past it.

Well again I was definitely liking it; I just found that it demanded my full attention while not hooking me enough to stick with it.

Ill have more to say about this later, but thinking that Walt was anything other than a villain is ridiculous. I see why some people felt that way, but i mostly think the people who do are meathead morons
