Wow, that's pretty funny.

Lol at leading with Ted Dibiase on sign and poster.

Edit: my brother tells me they made a figure that includes his convention banner! Lol

Say what you will, dressing in bright yellow from head to toe takes real confidence.

I've had an almost infinite reservoir of patience with this pandemic despite finding it unpleasant, but the wait between COVID vaccine shot #1 and shot #2 - and then I assume the two-week wait after that for shot #2 to hit full effect - feels interminable.

Ever the optimist, I emerged from shot #1 last week with a text to a friend saying, "Wouldn't it be fun to be one of the people who catches a fatal bout of COVID in between the two vaccine shots?" (I don't truly fear this as anything more than a "man, that would suck, like being savagely murdered by a hippo" scenario. I'm remaining as careful as ever and am now getting at least the partial protection of shot #1.)

I’m finally able to make an appointment and it is such a pain in the ass to even find an appointment

Vaccinespotter.org is really helpful. I originally made an appointment through the state-run site and was facing a two-week wait, which is longer than I hoped but not unreasonable. Then I used vaccinespotter and reduced my wait to three days.

I loved scheduling through CVS (which I found availability of through vaccinespotter) because I was able to lock down appointments for both shots all in one action. You could just try CVS directly if you haven't.

2nd Moderna dose hit me like an unprotected chair shot.

Yeah, I scheduled mine two days later than I could have, because the first available day is the day before a work day I really kind of need to be around for if possible. I'm preparing myself for the possibility of life being unpleasant for a day or two after the second shot. (I'm taking Pfizer.)

I just think Connecticut doesn’t have many appointments . We went from 45-55 to now everyone over 16 being eligible today . I got an appointment early May but would like to get one for next week if possible

Hmm, yeah I just took a glance at CT and it looks tough.

Indiana recently threw it open to everyone 16+ and even lifted any IN residency requirement, but it doesn't look like your surrounding states have lifted the residency requirement.

I figure I can keep looking . Worse case scenario I kept my May appointment . But it’s my birthday next month so I’d like to be fully vaccinated so I can degen somewhere not local

I've been pondering a vacation when I'm fully vaccinated, but it feels like traveling somewhere where I'll still have to mask up anytime I'm indoors and in public sort of defeats the point of having a release from 14 months of vigorously following the guidelines.

Same. Hoping sometime over summer we won’t have to mask up

If I wasn't a healthcare worker, I would've channeled my inner Ultimate Opportunist gimmick and been vaccine-hunting any place that could have extra doses available end-of-day/during storms/etc. Apparently this is a thing in my state

Hey I fully support this. Better for a dose to go to a low risk/healthy person vs. getting wasted.

Bank threes are the worst. Obviously if you're Gonzaga you happily accept the lucky break and move on; lucky breaks make up a nonzero part of every sports fan's historical successes. But if you're someone reacting to the play, you don't go "WOW THEY SURE EARNED IT ON THAT ONE."

I will continue to graciously offer free coaching to people who don't know how to respond to things that happen in sporting events.

[9:39 AM] Doe, Jane
So I have a meeting with [head of HR and the highest management in the office] re [WOAT] today

[9:40 AM] Doe, Jane
i may be quitting on monday if this does not go well
This is from yet another former colleague, not the last one I mentioned reporting him (who also was apparently not the first to report him).

Meanwhile, an unconfirmed but very credible rumor is that another manager (who was actually a step up from my rank, heading up a sister team) from my old division is going to be the newest defector to come join my new division. I didn't know it, but apparently we were both making the same break for the door back in January/February. My competition was stiffer than I realized, and I was fortunate to be granted that escape when I was. WOAT has created quite a buyer's market for any other division in the office that would like to poach high-quality attorneys from his area.

This experiment is continuing to go as planned. I had initially set an O/U of 2.5 years for this run for him with this office, but I have to think I'd be slamming the under at this point. As skeptical as I've been that anything could happen to him quickly, I can't bring myself to believe that he's just 100% invincible.

Just want to share that I have successfully completed 100% of the branching storylines in championship mode for WWF No Mercy on Nintendo 64. Intercontinental Belt was surprisingly the most grueling.

Been on this retro kick since christmas, playing through all the AKI wrestling games. I know Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 is often regarded higher than No Mercy, but I find the latter to have more charm. WCW/NWO Revenge is my old favorite, but unfortunately lacks a true career mode. Overall, AKI games (WCW/NWO World Tour, WCW/NWO Revenge, Wrestlemania 2000, No Mercy, VPW1&2) are still the most fun wrestlers by far.

I think in pure hours, WCW/NWO World Tour is probably up there with my most played game. Great times

I played that game a lot too, but I can't imagine it would compete for total hours in sunk time. It's amazing how a day can just disappear in a blink when you're into a great RPG. An arcade game would have a hard time keeping up, even a really great and addictive one like that.

AKI was also working on another WCW game before they folded and Vince bought them out. It would be go on to become Def Jam Vendetta, which was a gem in its own right. Unfortunately, the studio abandoned wrestling shortly after and shifted to clothing/lifestyle type games (which continue to enjoy success in the East Asian market today).

...but then, hope on the horizon!

It was recently confirmed that the original director of WWF No Mercy, and some other key AKI team members from that era, are now developing the new AEW game. Hopes are obviously high, as they have promised this to be the spiritual successor that many fans have dreamed about.

Probably true, but man I just did battle royales all day every day. I dont know why I found them so intriguing but pinning 20 diff people is amazing.

Prior to having a memory card, I ran the gauntlet in WCW vs the World (PS1) in one day to access Andre the Giant. That game was pretty sick.

Wrestlemania 2000/No Mercy are my favorite wrestling games by far. Possibly been 15 years since I played either.

Yeah, so the sharper line would have apparently been 2.5 months, since he made it about three days past the 2.5-month mark before his sorry ass got fired today.

I'm not sure schadenfreude has ever felt this good.
