Come what may, the Mariners did not put up a winless season.

Succession is killing it through one season.

I remember really enjoying Enemy of the State when it hit theaters in 1998.

Whether it has just aged badly, or was always terrible, I disavow that enjoyment entirely. This movie ****ing blows, despite Gene Hackman being as enjoyable as usual.

Just fired up the premiere of Ozark for the first time.

Whenever I see this actor, it's very hard for me to not think of him as "that HHH look-alike."

Speaking of shows you should watch. Have you seen The Boys yet, LKJ?

That guy doesn't look Paul LaVesque-ish at all imo.

I believe this is the first I’ve even heard of it.

Same here, and it has Aya Cash as a main character which I am super pumped for. Been jonesing for more content from her since You're the Worst ended.

It's on Amazon, LKJ, based off a series of comics by the same guy who made Preacher.

I stand by the comparison.

I can't tell whether this premise for The Boys is stupid or interesting, but the 8.7 on IMDb convinces me I should at least give it a shot.

I'm thinking the same as LKJ but I'm willing to give it a shot also.

You still should give a shot to one of the wrestling documentaries I recommended (Wrestling With Shadows on YouTube or Resurrection of Jake the Snake on Prime Video). The latter is the less wrestling-focused one and probably more accessible to the non-fan, though I tend to think a non-fan could enjoy either one.

I thought the boys was ok, nothing special. It has that slightly gritty but also massively overpolished feeling that I always find a bit strange.

I just watched Resurrection of Jake the Snake and quite enjoyed it. A good redemption story is always worthwhile. Thanks for the recommendations.

The speech they showed a snippet of from his Hall of Fame induction was an all-timer that would serve as a good addendum. Unfortunately I can't find a free clip of it on YT or DailyMotion.

I believe I saw Wrestling with Shadows when it was released. I love wrestling docs. Have also seen Beyond the Mat (many times) and The Backyard. Monday Night Wars. Really loved The Last Ride. I could probably get down with one tonight.

Every time Jake Roberts crosses my mind I'm in disbelief that he is still alive.

Mick Foley seemingly still being of sound mind is another mind-blowing one. I'm not under the impression that he's done the same sort of hard living outside the ring, but the in-ring stuff is plenty to have completely wrecked his brain.

Also Ric Flair, more on the Jake Roberts level. Not sure of his level of drug use, but he has clearly spent decades being just a legendary drunk.

James "Kamala" Harris, dead at age 70.

I always liked that character. I saw him in person in 1993.

This guy should literally never be seen in public again.

I didn't see a guy hide behind his teammates. I saw him take a stance and others jump in front.

I grant that others clearly jumped in front. But pump-faking a charge at the player and then half-assedly letting a whole group jump in front when **** gets real still has much the same effect as described in the tweet. His reaction was that of a shook person whose bluff just got called.

(I see you, people engaging with VMF as if he should be allowed to be a poster anywhere on the internet.)
