My favorite part of Tapatalk is it continually showing me context-free snippets of master posts in the POG Politics Thread.

Suck it, Aaron Rodgers and all who choose to like him.

I promise nothing.

I’ll say I’m happy enough with the season, as rebuilds go it’s good that we’re already in the position of being a wildcard contender instead of having to suffer a full bottom-out season before beginning a new upward trajectory.

It's going to feel strange as a Pats fan when Brady/Belichick leave and they go back to finishing 9-7 and getting stomped on in any game that counts like the good ole days

By the way, the rewinder series on YouTube is quite excellent and I highly recommend it.

I always love the fact that Hasselbeck made that coin-toss declaration, and the only long-term annoyance of it is the fact that people seem to think of it as some sort of embarrassing moment for the Seahawks given the game's ending.

Probably the most tilting part of that video is the continued myth that Favre actually played well in that game the night after he lost his father. Yes his statline was good, but if you watched the game the stats were built on him throwing up ducks and his receivers rescuing them. Nobody could really fault him for not playing especially well, but the fairy tale that he "shredded" the Raiders that night is just another of many examples of fawning coverage of Brett Favre that he wasn't due.

I don't even have any reasons to particularly dislike the Packers, so it's not a situation where I hate the team so I look to hate their QBs. It's really just a matter of them now having spent the past couple of decades on a couple of great QBs who the general population was unaware that they were supposed to loathe based on personality alone.

So much pain. We're favored this time, and all I can muster is, "It's possible we finally win again, but probably not." Which is the same feeling I've had going into the game for the past several years.

Mother of God.

Obviously I've correctly made good sport out of hating on Aaron Rodgers, but his family airing its dirty laundry against him so publicly is beyond uncomfortable. Even if they're 100% right in their gripes, which I really make no assumption about either way, it's gross to be cutting promos on him like this in public.

Lol somebody posted the gif of Jesse chugging water during the dinner scene in breaking bad as a response. Which is perfect.

If they can make part of the field heated so you can see all the lines and hash marks perfectly, why can’t they just make the whole field like that?

I assume that's a computer effect like the yellow line.

Cool feature of Pullman is the heated sidewalks. It's odd that I've never encountered that elsewhere. You can walk the sidewalks of Pullman in and after a significant snowfall without ever worrying about your footing.

It's pricey, but yeah in icy climates it should for sure be used more often

It was fully expected, which blunts the effect. The real frustration is that the nation doesn’t view UW as evil, I’m pretty sure mostly on the basis that they haven’t won enough since the early 90s and winning is the only evil that people recognize. Shades of dumbasses nationwide believing that Oregon was a preferable alternative to USC when they were USC’s primary challenger who hadn’t won as much.

The fun thing about losing a depressing game is when you wake up the next day and get to take a moment to reconfirm the loss to yourself as having really happened.

Anyway, still hoping we can get a NY6 bowl at 10-2. Fiesta Bowl would be lovely.

Let it be said that Ryan Leaf, jackass though he was in his younger years, is a very encouraging recovery story these days and seems to be an awesome guy who has matured a ton. Despite the fact that he'll continue to be cited negatively due to his flop of an NFL career, he has long since ceased to be an embarrassment to the school and is in fact very much a credit to it now.

(The troll was responding to Leaf calling the AC loss "a bitter pill to swallow.")

Yep. Unfortunately such standard fare for Twitter that it's impossible to be shocked. Love the platform as a news source (and as a medium to follow Anna Kendrick obviously), but it's a pretty big cesspool in other ways.

I'll take all of this advice under careful advisement.

I'm so goddamn sick of the Outback Bowl.

Yeah, I had admittedly been blind to how that series had been going for UM lately until a friend pointed out prior to our rivalry game that I probably felt just about how Michigan fans felt. Obviously I can empathize.

There's a cutscene in GTA 5 after completion of one of the later heists, when Michael and Franklin convene at Lester's and Lester busts out some booze and offers drinks all around, at which point Michael excuses himself because he wants to attend to some other business. Franklin offers to join him, and Michael says (paraphrase), "Nah, stay, drink, have fun." Then the camera shows Lester and Franklin sitting there on a crappy couch in Lester's depressing office, drinks in hand, as Michael leaves. The "have fun," combined with that reaction shot, is so incredibly cringeworthy because it's impossible to imagine the awkwardness of this two-person celebration of Franklin and Lester sitting and drinking together.
