Opinion:

I would rather watch jumanji than Star Wars. And I'm not a giant Rock fan or anything.

I haven't watched a Star Wars movie since Phantom Menace. My soul floated out of my body at some point while Jar Jar Binks was on the screen, and that was that.

Heres the weird thing.

I've watched 7 Star Wars movies before today, and haven't much liked any of them. The only reason I went to the movie today is because my son wanted to see.

Turns out I really liked this one, and I cant put my finger on why

Rumors of a return of The Office

I cannot possibly imagine that being good. I mean, I'm sure I'd tune in out of morbid curiosity, but I would bail quickly once it sucked (which I fully expect would occur immediately).

Reunions can work with some shows. I'm optimistic about the Roseanne reboot. But trying to shoehorn everyone back into Dunder Mifflin sounds painful, especially given how awful the last season was. Anyway, the link makes it sound more like smoke than fire, so perhaps it's just clickbait.

I could never do it again. The first five seasons were perfect and I watched the series many times while grinding for SNE back in the day. I don't think I made through a handful of episodes in season 6 and I heard it just got worse and worse.

Threat Level Midnight/Goodbye Michael from S7 are worth a watch (and any clip of Florida Stanley from S8), but fine to end your watching after Niagara from S6 IMO

We are going to Disaster Artist sometime this weekend. Can’t wait.
I'm going to a midnight screening next Friday night with a Q & A from "Michelle," from the movie. Have any of you ever done one of these screenings? I hear it's Rocky Horror-esque.

How is it like RHPS?? I assume because maybe people yell out stuff at the screen?

Yes, exactly, people throw spoons. Footballs go flying during the catch parts. The audience yells out quotes at appropriate times. Everybody participates when "You're tearing me apart Lisa!" hits.

It seems like a blast.

On the subject of throwing spoons, and at the risk of repeating material, though I can't find any evidence that I mentioned this previously:

In my college dorm, we would gather in the common area and watch the wrestling shows. We would sit there armed with plastic forks, and anytime we thought something stupid was happening we would throw our forks at the TV. It amused us when, at particularly egregious times, we would all just silently rare back and launch within a second of each other.

One night I got home, passed through, and saw one guy watching by himself. I said, "Oh, I forgot Smackdown was on tonight." I sat and said, "How's the show been?" He shook his head and said, "Stephanie had this incredibly annoying monologue that went on FOREVER. ... I had to fork it like four times."

I nodded in acknowledgment. Then I squinted at him and said, "Wait, you were just sitting here throwing forks at the screen by yourself?" "...yeah."

It's good to know that Steph had her magic even back then.

Merry Christmas, people!

My kid was kind enough to give me her cold for Christmas. Was starting a little something yesterday and tried to fend it off but it was not to be as I feel awful today.

idk what I wanted for Christmas but what I ended up getting for Christmas was a torn bicep.

I'd just gotten home from a family party and was dancing crazily with my daughter when I spun her and threw her at my other arm to break her fall*...when it suddenly went very wrong and we both heard 4-5 pops in my elbow. Got it checked out today and a complete ****ing tear. Just awful. Surgery and 2-3 months of PT. woo hoo

*Think dip but no back support for the first 1/4-1/3 of the fall. I was trying to make her think that I'd drop her. I did drop her. She's ok.

edit: before authorities are called, she's a teenager, not a toddler, and she was not in any danger of being seriously hurt.

The night before Thanksgiving I got an excruciating pain in my lower abdomen. I was in/out of the bathroom all night vomiting while it felt like someone was stabbing me. Like an idiot I laid in bed for 2 days and only able to drink water/Gatorade. I was chugging water like it was nothing but it never satisfied my thirst. I've never been thirsty like that before. Finally on Saturday I couldn't deal with it any longer and went to the local medical center.

I ended up having diverticulitis and it caused a rupture in my colon. All of the water/Gatorade I was drinking for 2 days was leaking into my abdominal cavity, along with everything else in my stomach/intestines. After spending 3hrs at the medical center they finally told me an ambulance was on the way to rush me to the hospital for emergency surgery.

The surgeon said my kidneys and liver were starting to shut down and I was probably less than 2hrs away from dying. I spent the next 9 days in a hospital bed hooked up to 3x IV's. They gave me control of the dilaudid drip for my pain and I have to say it was the greatest thing ever.

After being released from the hospital I spent 2.5 weeks with my parents and finally returned to my home yesterday. The worst part(other than almost dying) is dealing with a colostomy bag until the end of January when I go back into surgery to have it reversed. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that for the rest of my life.

And I thought I had it bad when my daughter left a toy on the stairs and I went down and bruised my heel. By the way, a bruised heel sucks big time

I'm reading the first book now. Am having an off-and-on relationship with it, but I thought I remembered someone saying something about it being kind of a weak starter to the series. I suppose if I'm at all interested at the end I'll give the second book a shot.

By the way Halpert, haven't seen you posting around here in a while, but your ass better not be gone from the site too.
