Moved my computer just in case my house floods. Now my Ethernet doesn't work and I'm stuck on WiFi at 46 Mbps!

How much danger of flooding are you looking at in your neck of the woods?

No one really knows. East and South of Houston got the worst of it and I am west. But we still expect a couple more days of rain. Right now, I don't think we'll flood. School is cancelled the entire week through much of the Houston area.

Good luck and godspeed. Hurricanes like this are once in a lifetime on par with Rock/Cena.

MLB.tv's condensed games are a great feature, but the fascination with replaying home runs several times is suboptimal. Yeah I get it, he hit the ball hard and it went over the wall. It's an exciting play as it happens, but there's not a lot more to see after the first go.

I thought I'd seen every sport known to man, but apparently FS2 is showing professional kabbadi at the moment.

For those wondering, it's essentially Indian (dot, not feather)* Red Rover with uniforms.

Like you don't watch every replay of your guy hitting a Home Run in The Show.

Speaking of The Show, two strange happenings this weekend in my game. In the first, my guy Hit a sharp grounder up the first base line, it goes right over the bag, umpire points to the stands, ball boy scoops up the ball... and my guy just goes right one running. Chugs around the bases for an ITPHR. Then the visitng team gets admonished by the play by play guy for letting a routine single turn into a home run.

In the second, I had my first ever walk off hit, and as the game goes into celebration mode, it zooms in on the guy standing at first base... who isnt me. Its nobody I've seen before. Some blank slate create a character with number 99. The box score doesnt count my final at bat, and the game winning hit is credited to this number 99 who doesnt have a name, its just a blank spot.

It's very weird that "HOW ARE THERE ANY DISLIKES FOR THIS" and variations of the same remain so common in YouTube comments sections. Like, it still doesn't seem to be a deliberate meme or anything. It really seems to be earnest in most cases.

I knew that Hope Solo was probably low-character also when she suddenly married Jerramy Stevens.
Piggybacking on this, after the Kearse trade yesterday it was assumed (by me as well) that another former UW WR, Kasen Williams, had probably safely made this year's roster. Turns out he's being cut. Seahawks Twitter is unsurprisingly flipping out about it, not because it's likely to make a massive difference who our #5 wideout is, but because he was UW and the Seahawks fanbase will always have an unfortunately huge amount of overlap with those UW jackasses.

I still think that I don't feel any real discrimination toward my team's players regardless of where they went to college (nor any favoritism in the rare instance of Marcus Trufant being a stud for WSU and then being a solid NFLer for the Hawks), but to add an addendum, I do maintain the right to hate the ****ing **** out of the fans who can't also be college-blind when it comes to their pro team's players.

Taking a HTML5/CSS course on edX and realizing that I've already know a bunch of coding already just from posting img/links/etc. on this forum. Nice to see my endless hours on this website can actually show some applicable dividends in the real world!

On the bright side, you've managed to keep a respectably low post count for someone with a 2005 reg date. Not that I actually want this to happen, but the site really needs to fold before I manage to get to 100,000 just to save me from myself. I already wince quite badly at 80,000 every time I look at it.

Everyone talks (or in this case, posts) too much. Also, I rarely post in POG/Sports/OOT/Politics (which I bet inflates the numbers on most here.)

There can be no question that my constant playing of werewolf in 2012-2015 is a big culprit in my inflated post count. Every game causing me to rack up 500+ posts (because I was neither good enough nor bad enough to almost ever die immediately) did add up.

Obviously POG being a suck is inarguable.

Several years later on this, but when you brought it up I put it vaguely in my to-do list. I tried reading a couple of Neil deGrasse Tyson's books recently and didn't find them to be all that accessible, so I decided I might do better to jump into his TV series and then maybe revisit the books afterward. Am really enjoying it so far.

Anything that involves NdGT is fantastic.

If you haven't seen him on Joe Rogan's podcast or the youtube series First We Feast(where he's eating hot wings) you should check them out.
