And by "about to play" I mean that despite buying a physical disc and putting it in 10 minutes ago, I'm only at a 15% install.

I keep forgetting that this is part of sitting down to play a PS4 game for the first time.

That much I don't know. The other game I was considering getting was tomorrow's release of Rory McIlroy PGA Tour, but I'm probably covered on sports for a while longer since I'm not getting tired of MLB The Show at all. I mean, I'm getting tired of my inability to master hitting better, but I appreciate the dynamic difficulty shifting with my level of play to keep it a competitive experience. The rigid difficulty levels of other sports games are problematic. After a decent bit of gameplay, I generally find myself stuck in purgatory where the second-highest difficulty level is too easy and the highest difficulty level is too hard.

I thought of this post yesterday while checking out. But it was because my machine kept screwing up and coming up with false error messages for me. The attendant had to come over twice to zero out the error messages. The place was busy, and I kept thinking that people behind me in line were probably thinking this about me.

I wanted more badly than anything just to be able to explain to people, "If any of you aren't idiots, I promise that I'm one of you. I usually have this **** down to a science and work through my purchase as quickly as anyone can. I'm really not causing those errors, seriously." But of course, in order to make that true, I needed to stay at my machine and absorb their silent judgment.

Damn faulty machines.

Been commissioned to write a GTA sketch for a video game comedy show my group is performing in next month. I have no gaming system or real desire to play it (I've watched various roommates play off and on for years). Any suggestion on a particular GTA game to watch gameplay of on Youtube?

I don't think Adam AK is worth watching for burdz because he skips all the cut scenes.

Good point. If we are looking purely on cutscenes, then GTA V is probably best. Anything with Trevor in it can make for some uncomfortable comedy

Let me apologize upfront for this long and unnecessarily long post about nothing, but I need to vent and raising my voice to my wife isnt working out for anyone.

We have an above ground pool in our backyard. It is very nice and was a wedding gift from my wife's grandfather who has since passed away. Well it hasnt been opened for two years and we decided to open it this year because our kids love swimming and they are both in swimming classes.

As I mentioned earlier we didnt open it last year. We decided this because we knew that with both of our jobs at the time wouldnt allow us to properly keep it up during the summer, and with our two kids being 3 and 1 at the time the werent quite ready anyway. Also I should mention that the summer prior I got hurt at work and my wife was pregnant with our daughter, so we also let the pool getaway from us, so when the company came to close it that year, they said they would take care of it when they opened it the following year.

Well as I said we didnt open it and over this past winter to add to everything, the bad weather caused a big rip in the cover which just compunded the misery when we decided to open it this year. We tried to contact the company we used before to open it for us but they went out of business, so my wife said she knew what to do and went to the pool store to buy everything we needed. She did that and I got the ripped cover and everything else off and went about adding the chemicals that were needed. This wasnt even close to enough to get our pool clean, and I went back to the pool store for some advice. The guy told me to just keep the chlorine levels high and it should kill all the algae.

Well we kept adding and nothing was working, so when my wife went to the store the first time she said she picked up a card of a pool cleaner in case we needed help. And since we really didnt want to keep throwing money at it and accomplishing nothing, we called the business. I talked to the guy and told him our story and he told us he couldnt get to us until the following Monday morning. He told us to keep the chlorine level high and he would be able to get us right, and he would be there between 7-10 AM.

So this past Monday I was up and waiting for him and right at 7 or so a bunch of bad thunderstorms moved in the area and he called around 8 to say he had to cancel his whole day, which is completely understandable. He told us he would reschedule for the next day at the same time. So I make sure Im up and ready at 7 on tuesday, and he never shows. I call around 11 to find out whats up and someone tells me they are really busy and will call everyone between 12 and 1 to let them know what time they will be getting there. Of course I get no call, and call back at 4 and leave a message. I wasnt loud or ignorant, but I let him know via voicemail that I wasnt happy.

Of course I didnt get a call back and then yesterday morning I try calling again and it went right to voicemail. About an hour later my wife tried calling from her phone and it rang this time but also went to voicemail and she left a message. We were resigned to the fact that he was never showing and at this point were done with him but at least wanted to hear what he had to say for himself.

Well after my wife called we got the kids dressed and fed and had a couple places to go. We were going to stop by the pool store and just buy a couple cases of shock and try again. We also were going to ask if they knew this guy since they were giving out his business card and see if we could get an explanation of some sort. So we leave and my wife says "lets call him one more time". I say fine figuring she would be wasting her energy, but of course the guy answers. My wife talks to him and he apologizes for forgetting about us and says to make it up he will give us the chemicals for free. We say great and he says he will be there first thing in the morning. I up again at 6 AM to make sure everything is ok for this guy when he shows, and of course he never showed. I had to leave with my daughter at 830 to take her to swim class so my wife, who just finished a 12 hour shift as a nurse in the ER stayed up and he still never showed.

Im generally a laid back guy, believe it or not, and will let most things just roll off my back, but one thing I can not stand is being jerked around. This guy has been stringing us along for 2 weeks now and I want to punch holes in my wall. Now I want him to show up so I can let him have it. Well i apologize for the long winded rant and if a mod wants to delete this, thats fine, I just needed to get it off my chest.

Cliffs:

We opened our pool after 2 years and couldnt get it clean
Called a new pool service and he said he would be there in a week
He cancelled the appointment because of weather and hasnt showed up since
I hate getting jerked around
My fingers cramp when i type too much too fast

Agreed. I just wish he would have called me back Tuesday night or told my wife yesterday that he couldnt get to us. I would have respected that a whole lot more than this crap he is pulling. My wife asked me before she went to bed if I was going to call. I told her I have no interest in talking to this guy anymore.

With that said if he showed up today at some point I probably would let him do his work on the pool then tell him off after I paid him.

I was a bit slow to warm up to this iteration of GTA being worlds better than what I had played previously, but the more I get into the story mode the more I agree. It's a pretty great game.

i was trying to order some papa johns to enjoy some pizza and beers with the battleground PPV. Noticed the 50% promo code i am using glitched and applied twice (50+50 = 100% off). So I could have gotten my pizza for free + delivery fee and tip. I know **** papa johns and all but I just couldn't pull the trigger on the glitched free pizza, i ended up manually removing one of the 50% offs. Curious as to what others ITT would have done. If the coupons glitched and were multiplicative (for 75% off), i may have pulled the trigger and feigned ignorance.

Well I would have ordered from literally anywhere else. Worst pizza chain by miles for me. But in any case I can't imagine that I would have accepted the free pizza either.

^ yup.

Hell, I'd eat Little Caesars before Papa Johns. Would definitely pay full price for a Pizza Hut pizza over a half-off Papa Johns.

I got an e-mail offering me a free Papa Johns pizza on that Peyton Manning "two million free pizzas" promotion a few years ago and ordered it. As I ate it, I spent the whole time going "what the hell, why did I do this?" Yes it was free, but that became a day in my life when I had ****ing Papa Johns for dinner. I was dead broke, and the opportunity cost was still unacceptable.

When I was a poor college student we had a coupon for papa johns that was 50% off a large pizza. It stayed on our fridge all year because we would rather walk the 10 minutes to little caesars to get a $5 hot n ready pizza that also wasnt very good than sit around and wait for a $5 papa johns pizza.

That buttery Domino's crust gets wearisome after a while, but I generally enjoy the first piece of it quite a bit.

Dominos has actually gotten a bit better, the gap used to be larger between it and pizza hut. The brooklyn style pizza they started doing is solid. Used to be that their thin crush was ultra thin cardboard, but the brooklyn style provide a thinner crust that still have flavor.
