MLB.tv has apparently added the feature this year (my friend said they had it last year, which if so makes me mad that I didn't realize it then) that allows you to use a team's audio broadcast instead of TV broadcast as you watch games. That is an excellent feature to have, especially if you root for a team with a terrible TV play-by-play guy.

I heard you could also just listen to the park sounds, although I haven't been able to find it so I can't confirm.

Confirmed actually. I just put it on that setting for Jays-Yankees.

Nothing to do but shrug when Trout gets a hold of one. Thankfully this isn't last season anymore and we shouldn't be incapable of scoring. Used to be that every individual run against us felt like a dagger.

I wore my Ryan Howard jersey today, which I've mostly kept hidden since the end of 2009, to make my friend laugh. It worked.

Yeah it was a satisfying start. Felix has still never lost on opening day, and he's started a ton of them by now.

I thought it was a bizarre stat that today was the first time the M's got to open the season on their homefield in eight years. Like, WTF? I don't get how that happens.

Mike Trout not only hit that HR, but robbed the M's of a home run defensively in the bottom of the 8th and made it look like the most routine play in the world. He made it look so boring that I wasn't convinced that he actually took a home run away until the replay.

As for Bumgarner, yips in spring training are whatever. Felix didn't pitch well in the spring either. I'm under the impression that guys who have secure roster spots no matter how they play tend to use their time to work on/refine stuff instead of dishing out the usual regular season onslaught.

Yeah, spring training stats for healthy veteran stars are meaningless. Hell, Greg Maddux said he would work on trying something new even in regular season blowouts as opposed to minimizing runs scored.

Good to see Angel getting some good stroke, the Giants season is going to hinge on his ability to stay healthy and hit the ball

The marlins had a rain delay in a stadium with a roof because they aren't smart enough to close it OR purchase a tarp (because they have a roof) and the Rangers are further away from hitting a pitch off Sonny tonight than I am on my couch. It's gonna be a long year of incompetence. Still couldn't be happier that BEISBOL is back

Holy god the Padres home announcers are the worst

Eddie George was one of the most overrated players in any sport ever, and I always wish bad things on people who praised him.

I find that most baseball announcers that aren't national are terrible. Finished watching the Phillies game about an hour ago, their announcers have been awful since Harry Kalas died.

Sigh. What a horrible day that was. The day before was Easter and we were watching the Phils in Colorado at my Mom's. During the 4th-6th innings when Harry was off, my Mom asked us how bad it was going to be after Harry stopped announcing. I still blame her for what happened the next day.

I always want someone to punch Hawk Harrelson in the throat so hard that it functions as a career-ending injury, but nobody has stepped up yet.

I cant watch the Sox because of him. Although his obscure references and stories are entertaning at times, its still not enough to get me to watch

He's the worst. When the Mariners play in Chicago I get blacked out in Indianapolis (completely ridiculous), so the only TV option I'll have is WGN if they're on that day. I find that extremely difficult to sit through, and I generally just check in sporadically on the games those days.

The contrast between the White Sox and the Cubs announcers really is remarkable. Hawk is atrocious and the Cubs are talking about WAR, wOBA, and splits.
