Any Vikings watchers here?

I just finished THAT episode in S4 and I'm left wondering if King Aelle is the most decent character on the show.

I know he's cast and portrayed as a villain, but considering all the despicable things every other character has done, all he's really ever done is defend his own people.

Maybe he can be cited for cruel and unusual punishment, but after what was done to his people, can he really be blamed?

Lagertha is easily my favorite character, but she's done some shitty things too.

Athelstan is close, but committed adultery and went on raids.

But I can't really point to anything Aelle has done except hate the main character for good reason.

Yeah I saw that. If nothing else, I’m glad he’s determined to shoo away whatever redemption that the hamster-brained public was almost certainly ready to give him if he just stopped very publicly being a ****ing idiot for a year or two.

As much as I was correct to be anti-Rodgers, I won’t pretend that I knew the depths of his awfulness. Being a Sandy Hook conspiracy nut is a new low even for him.
