Also because no one would think Bryan has any chance of winning. He hasn't beat any main event talent clean in a very long time.

if SS is the money ppv the wwe thinks it is (they're talking about having metallica do h's intro live ffs), it has to be punk v cena. it's the only variation of a cena title matchup that can take top billing in a ppv with #thisbusiness v bork and even then it might not be the main event. the build might be boring as **** for us with cena vs cena lite doing poop jokes and making fun of each other's faces for 6 weeks while bryan fued's with (i guess) kane, but it's probably the best route to take from #thisbusiness's sense

plus as dylan said, bryan badly needs a fued where he goes over. he's not going over cena

Nor should he. Cena should go over Punk and then hold the belt until at least 2014.

the john cena championship is only important cuz the wwe says it is, not cuz there's a huge demand for it or cuz the undercard isn't worthy of it

cena v rock was correctly the main event and was huge cuz it was the rock more than it was cena

cena v lesnar was correctly the main event and was huge cuz it was lesnar more than it was cena

cena v kane, cena v lauranitis and cena v show had no business closing ppvs

the problem isn't that punk/bryan can't headline, it's that the wwe won't even try to see if it can. every single segment involving them during their fueds either opened the show or were buried in the middle of the show. doesn't matter how over they are, doesn't matter how much merch they drive, it'll always be wwe raw or wwe presents (insert PPV) starring john cena

ratings are at an all time low, buys and gate are trending south, stock price is at an all-time low. could be that the product as a whole is dog**** (thanks linda), could be that the fans are resisting cuz the wwe shamelessly put all their eggs in the john cena basket and aren't bothering to build anyone else, could be that nobody gives a **** about wrestling no matter what you do with it. who knows

They might as well, if the WWE has no commitment to put anyone else other than Cena, Brock Lesnar, or HHH in the last match. If you are going to go down, you might as well go down in a manner befitting rather than giving us a glimpse of hope, that maybe something, in the WWE structure, can change.

I'm cool with Bork destroying HHH, followed by him absolutely laying out Punk/Cena in the main event leading to a triple-threat at Night of Champions

1, Cena vs Bryan means Bryan will have gone over Punk for the title.

2, Results dont matter anymore and no one thinking he can beat Cena but then beating Cena unclean in that match is perfect

3, lol, in Punk vs Cena there will be a lot of crowd cheering Punk, its dumb to think a Bryan vs Cena crowd would be more turned on Cena than full babyface Punk vs Cena.

I like Bryan as much as everyone else on here does, but he is simply not ready to face Cena for the WWE Championship at the 2nd biggest PPV of the year. His character is ready, his overness is ready, but the way he's been booked is far from being ready to face Cena. No one wants to see a dirty finish to the main event of SummerSlam, so why not build Bryan up, let him go over someone credible like Kane clean, then have him go for the title when he's a more believable threat. Right now there are only 4 active wrestler (5 if you count the Rock) who in Kayfabe have a believable chance of beating Cena. Brock and HHH, who are facing each other, and Sheamus and CM Punk. Sheamus is going to face Cena so all that leaves is Punk. Again, this isn't just some throw away PPV, this isn't about building new stars, it's about putting on the match that will get fans most excited, and most likely to buy the PPV. And that match is Punk vs Cena.

Yeah but what about The Rock's title run?

I think in kayfabe Big Show has a believable chance of beating Cena.

Even in kayfabe, show does not have a believable chance of beating Cena. He did not beat Cena in 2004, he did not beat Cena in 2006, he did not beat Cena in 2009, and he did not beat him here in 2012 and I knew that he was not going to beat Cena last Sunday, though I was hoping he would to try to shake things up, but no dice.

Cena thwarting The Rock's attempt to regain the belt is definitely the best way to recover from the awful booking that was putting Rocky over Cena at WrestleMania.

The MITB for Smackdown is gonna be

Damien Sandow vs Christian vs Santino Marella vs Tensai Vs Tyson Kidd

Wow that's weak. I feel like Christian is the only guy I can see winning it unless they really have big plans for Sandow.

I am assuming that more guys will be added. Cody Rhodes, Ziggler and Barrett arent in any matches.

I could see Tensai winning it. I can also see Santino winning and being the first to not get the belt

They normally have 8 or 9 entrants in the matches so undoubtedly some bigger names will be added cos I cant see any of those winning.

i can seriously see santino winning MITB. probably (see: hopefully) won't win the belt when he cashes it in but could u imagine the crowds every time santino teases cashing in?

Lol wtf is this? So our MITB matches this year are this and Cena vs Jericho vs Show vs Kane? Can't wait.

Sandow being in is awesome though. I like Tyson Kidd but him being included is one of the most random things I've ever seen. It honestly looks like they've just picked five names out at random.

Tyson Kidd is getting a bit of a push and should be in the upper midcards by the end of the year. Him being in the MITB isnt surprising to me at all. He is just D Bryan-lite and has paid his dues. Maybe he will win the US title so Santino can be free to cash in his briefcase (lolbad).
