PCO(Pierre Carl Ouellet) just won the ROH title at 51 years old...

He beat RUSH who has potential to be a massive star imo. Does anyone know if RUSH's contract is up soon? I know Marty is leaving soon but I'd be more excited about RUSH going somewhere else. ROH is kind of depressing these days.

I think there's like 2 other people here that keep up with what's happening with Impact but the Tessa Blanchard allegations that came out are pretty nasty and horrible timing considering Hard To Kill is tonight and she was probably booked to become world champion and the face of the company. It's going to be extra weird if the crowd are onto it and Sami is cheered and she's booed. Also have to think this hurts her value with AEW and WWE if no one wants to work with her.

Also RIP the AAA La Parka. La Parka that was in WCW is still alive.

idk what happened with Tessa but I just heard from Dave/Bryan last week that she was likely AEW bound shortly after winning the Impact title.

Not a huge follower of the indy scene. I recognize some of the names of those making accusations. How credible are they generally considered? It seems like the backlash came from all sides from women of multiple promotions, so it seems unlikely to be a coordinated hit job, but maybe thats me being naiive

I don't know the credibility of the individual declarants at all, but the sheer numbers are just too much for me to do anything but accept the allegations at face value.

Doesn't sound good, but it seems she wasn't even drinking age when this stuff supposedly happened. Hopefully she's grown up a bit and become a different person now. People can change for the better. We've seen people come back from worse. There probably should be some repercussions here though.

It's fair to consider how long ago it was and how young she was; I'm sure I'm not alone in not wanting to be forever haunted by every dumb and immature thing I said and did when I was young. However, those factors would carry a lot more weight if she had tried to make amends since, or at the very least took ownership when called out; her reaction (at least what I'm aware of) is not a good look. A person who had changed for the better probably also wouldn't have so many people willing to join the dogpile once it got started.

I think some of the current Impact girls are defending her though.

I didn't realize TNA was still a thing until I heard about this so if you're into the "all press is good press if you're a struggling company" mentality I guess it works? I can tell you hearing "our feel good story is an irl racist overcoming the odds" doesn't give me any incentive to go watch though.

They are still a thing and unfortunately don't get the props they deserve for a lot of what they've done recently since Don Callis and Scott D'Amore took over.

I'm actually really bummed for Impact, Callis and D'Amore about this whole situation. This angle was huge for them, they put a very long time into building it up and it was really well done. Tessa is a legit star and awesome to watch at almost everything she does. Having her go over men and giving her the title was extremely risky but I think it was the right thing to do to get eyes on them and they did an amazing job pulling it off. I watched the match as well and it was awesome. It had really good storytelling and a lot of exciting spots. Tessa went over and the story is complete. It was all very well done.

Which is why this all sucks. I was really looking forward to this match and was rooting hard for Tessa until yesterday when I opened twitter. I believe the allegations because of the number of people who came forward and more importantly who those people are. The first two allegations I saw were from Chelsea Green and Allysin Kay and that was pretty much enough for me. I thought Tessa could be a huge star in any promotion and she probably still can/will but that story in Japan is disgusting and I can never root for someone like that. It really sucks for Impact and it really sucks that Tessa clearly a dick that treats people like crap and keeps good talent down. As bad as Impact can be they have always done well at pushing woman but recently their biggest stars have asked for their release ie Green, Kay, Allie etc and if that was Tessa related then it extra sucks.

I don't know if Impact made the right decision putting her over. It obviously made sense for the story but it just feels so dirty now. It's also not a good look for people who don't watch Impact and have only been exposed to it from this.

Yeah it really is sad and I'm going to throw out an unpopular opinion that might send one particular poster off the edge, but I've been enjoying Impact more than AEW the last few months. They've done a much better job of putting their talent in situations where you can get behind them (like Tessa) or really hate them (like Ace Austin or Sammy Callihan) even if some of it (heel RVD) is still really silly sometimes.

Yeah, I liked that post too. What a crappy situation. I'm not really a fan of intergender so hadn't been watching it, but it was a smart angle to get people interested in the show and it seemed like Tessa was the right star to do it with. Obviously now we know (and they had to have known already) why she wasn't with WWE or AEW.

Maybe this is in poor taste and is too carny, but I think it would be funny to see some of this heat put into a heel turn (don't have her be an actual racist on screen, but lean into the bullying/irl heat aspect). One of my issues with intergender is it always seems to be the "undersized woman overcomes bigger sexist man" trope so it would be an interesting spin to see a heel woman world champ. And Tessa has always struck me as more of a natural heel (little did I know how accurate that was).

They're in such an awkward spot now... Tessa needs to make this right somehow to stay a face, but I think it's a hard thing to come back from quickly. A lot of people will understandably never forgive this, probably including co-workers. And if they do a heel turn, they'll probably get people mad that a woman is now being portrayed in a heelish way and is (probably) having to cheat to beat men. I'm kind of intrigued by how they handle this.
