Prior to airing, WWE responded to his producers refuting every point in his one-sided presentation. John Oliver simply ignored the facts.
And yet, WWE has shared none of these refutes with us

Well, the only way WWE can refute the point of independent contractor when by definition they're all definitely not independent contractors is a DX suck it chant.

On the bright side, I keep thinking of the ridiculousness of "why don't you ask yourself that question?" and laughing out loud. I had never before seen that Vince interview where he gets mad and slaps at the guy's papers.

I hadn't either. Vince must have had it squashed back then

Multiple sources have confirmed to Sports Illustrated that the finish of the "Winner Takes All" WrestleMania 35 main event with Charlotte Flair, Ronda Rousey and SmackDown & RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch went off as planned.

As previously reported, the match was scheduled to end with Lynch pinning Rousey. According to SI, the finish with Lynch pinning Rousey while Rousey got her shoulder up was designed to protect Rousey and keep her character strong. The controversial finish allows Rousey to say Lynch did not legitimately defeat her.

SI also reported that WWE officials reportedly have Rousey tentatively planned to face Lynch in a singles rematch at WrestleMania 36 on April 5, 2020 from Tampa. Dave Meltzer added on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE officials do want to do the rematch, but there's no date for her return yet and there's no date or plans confirmed for the rematch.

Rousey is expected to step away from WWE for now. She has stated in media interviews in the past that she wants to have children with husband Travis Browne, which throws out any timetable for a return if they plan to do so during her break. She will also need to recover from the broken hand that she suffered during the match while throwing punches.
This seems unlikely. However, if it were to happen I'd lay significant money that it won't main event. There's no way Becky can keep the momentum up when she's already conquered everything and they're already tossing her out there with Lacey Evans.

I'll call my shot now: Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollings main events WM 36.

Big time eye roll at "controversial finish to keep them strong". It's ok to have your top babyface beat a heel clean at the main event of mania.

My call for Mania 36 main event is Bryan vs Rollins

I would've had Charlotte pin Becky for nuke heat but what do I know.

On the WrestleMania recap edition of his Xpac12360 podcast, new inductee Sean Waltman told a story about a writer getting fired at the Hall of Fame because Bret Hart mentioned Vince McMahon’s name during his speech. Apparently, there’s a long-standing edict to not mention Vince or his backstage role during the ceremony, and The Hitman’s anecdote about the boss liking The Hart Foundation did not go over well with McMahon. Writer Robert Evans, who produced the segment featuring Bret’s speech, took the fall for it and was allegedly fired in gorilla on the night of the event.

According to sources, Nia Jax is suffering from ACL tears in both of her knees and she’ll need to go under the knife to repair them.

No word on how long she’ll be out, but it sometimes it takes up to nine months before full range of motion and stability is regained in the knee joint.

Jax tweeted a photo of herself on Friday and captioned the picture, “I’ll be gone for a while. Here’s something to remember me by.”

Nia was last in the ring at WrestleMania in a fatal four-way match for the Women’s Tag Team titles.

Here's a gif that conveys my emotions toward not seeing Nia for 9+ months

Nia is bad at wrestling, but she had pretty real heel heat that really enhanced the end of both Rumble matches, and was just an effective obstacle to put in front of babyfaces. She is actually going to be kind of hard to replace imo.

Also, being happy that she's injured is pretty lame.

Thing is, Nias character could be really good if she just got some decent writers for her story-lines.

But even if she did though...

She keeps screwing up and injuring others while she's active. So, her being injured means some others won't have to be.

Yeah, I realized that a bit after I posted and obv that's a reasonable way to feel (and I kind of agree). My bad.

Haven't seen this mentioned but AJ Styles injured his hip in his match against Orton when he did the Phenomenal Forearm from the top rope to the floor.

Hopefully Nia loses some weight. IIRC ACL injuries are much more common in female athletes than male athletes. Carrying all that weight around on restructured ACLs is playing with fire.

idk if anyone seen this around but it seems like a wild story.

Sasha showed up at RAW and apparently learned that her and Bailey were going to lose a handicap match to Alexa. Sasha left claiming "personal problems at home". Bailey, ofc, did end up losing a one-on-one match iirc. But why would that booking ever happen?

Sources also telling insiders that Bailey now wants time off as well. Also, Sasha's "personal problems" sent her to a vacation in Punta Cana, DR with a few other WWE wrestlers that actually have approved vacations. She was seen there on an IG story from another wrestler (don't remember who).

All this stemming from losing the prestigious tag titles at WM and probably some main event jealousy. Hilarious.
