Bruno

I know he was in his 80's but the guy seemed to in good shape whenever we saw him last few years. Glad he was able to reconcile and be put in the Hall while he could still enjoy it. I'll never forget how, being at the Garden that night, it hit me how much of an historic moment it was with Bruno returning to MSG.

I didn't start watching until 1978, so I missed the prime Bruno era. But he was obviously a legend--he carried Vince Sr.'s promotion for over a dozen years.

RIP

Ah dammit. Though I only started watching after he was totally out of the WWF in all capacities, he was obviously a generational talent. Whatever "it" factor was needed to be massively over in that pre-Wrestlemania era, he clearly had it in spades.

If you don’t know who Pentagon Jr., then you need to get on Netflix and binge Lucha Underground. You are missing out if you aren’t watching that show

No Such Thing as Bad Publicity: He invoked it while defending the David Arquette title reign by arguing that since people are still talking about the angle (and Russo himself) nearly a decade later, it was a success and a "money-maker".
It'd be hysterical if it weren't so sad.

I still don't get why people are so mad about that.

David Arquette did not demonstrate physical superiority in storyline to any wrestler. His win was treated as a complete fluke.

LT beating Bam Bam was a hundred times worse. Mayweather beating Big Show was a hundred times worse. If you want to stick with WCW, Jay Leno performed actual wrestling moves on Hulk Hogan, and Hogan sold for Jay Leno. That was a thousand times worse. Hugh Jackman beating up Dolph Ziggler was a hundred times worse.

Of the ones you named, Hogan selling for Leno is the only one I agree with. It's true that they didn't put Arquette over as the better man, but they did reduce the WCW Title to a comedy prop in a single moment.

Just tuned in to see where they go with this. Aries just had another belt made. And I guess they told him to act like a heel tonight to. He wasn't last time I watched which was like a week or two ago.

Had to unmute it when they gave Big Poppa Pump the mic. While he can keep bleaching everything and wear enough to cover his age, seems like he's finally starting to let himself go in his 50's. Never took off the t-shirt, spent most of his match (he's 1/2 of the tag champs) on the outside huffing and puffing while E-LI Drake did most the work. Did fire off a Taco Bell comment at Konnan, but I may have to keep watching to see if he eventually just drops if they ask him to do anything.

PS - Think E-LI Drake is the next WWE steal. Dude can talk, almost like a poor man's Rock.

Batista says that if he doesn't get on WWE by next WM, he's done forever:
Quote:
Batista also stated that if WWE doesn't bring him back for WrestleMania 35 next year, he won't be interested in ever returning:

"I don't get it, man. But I told them next year would be my last year. I'm turning 50 next year. I'd be willing to... I feel great. Physically, I'm in great shape. I've never let up on that."

"But I just don't want to be the old guy in the ring and I don't want to overstay my welcome. I just want to end my career the right way and next year will be the last opportunity, so if we can't make something happen by next year, then I'm just gonna officially hang it up."

"I'm doing okay for myself, so I don't need to be there. I just, I love it there. Even thought the fans totally crapped on me the last time I was there, I would still go back in a heartbeat and love to entertain them, and I would have fun doing it, man. I'd be happy to be there. But, I just don't get it, man. I don't get that company. I just don't understand."
I like Batista because he clearly loves the business. However, he's come out and said that he wants his last program to be with HHH. I have no desire to see Batista vs. HHH. I'm shocked that HHH isn't up for this.

None of these involved the main championship of the company

Yeah, Batista just appeared in a movie that's going to gross over 2 billion worldwide. He is clearly showing interest in coming back for a last run. How is this not a slam dunk for the E to do some easy cross promotion?
