When accounting for who is actually on the show, 2015 was awfully weak too (due to Savage being a posthumous induction), but yeah this year is the worst.
A petition was launched at ........... to change the name of the battle royal, which is nearing 10,000 signatures. Fans have also been contacting Snickers, which is a sponsor of WrestleMania. While WWE has not responded to our request for a comment regarding the backlash, Mars Wrigley Confectionery US, the parent company of Snickers, called the decision to name the battle royal after Moolah "unacceptable." Below is their statement that we received:
We were recently made aware of the World Wrestling Entertainment Inc's (WWE) decision to honor a former wrestler during the upcoming WrestleMania 34 event. As a principle-based business that has long championed creating inclusive environments that encourage and empower everyone to reach their full potential, this is unacceptable. We are engaging with the WWE to express our disappointment.
Yeah, not surprised that they caved on that. I don't always love the concept of the angry Twitter mob, but I appreciate their efforts here. WWE has insisted on glorifying Moolah for far too long, and I'm guessing this puts that to a permanent end.
Under "Training and Promoting" is "Allegations of financial and sexual exploitation". I'd quote it but it's 7 paragraphs long though it is an interesting read. Small excerpt:
Quote:
Penny Banner directly described Moolah as a pimp who "in return for money", rented her female trainees out "in bulk" to wrestling promoters so that the promoters and the male wrestlers could have sex with them. Banner said the women who were "sent on these tours were not told of this 'arrangement' ahead of time", and that "those who refused to have sex with wrestlers and promoters were raped"

What about him? Those that alleged that Terry Garvin attempted to mess with them said that Pat had never done anything like that and it seems like Garvin acted on his lonesome. The name Garvin never even appears in Pat's Wiki, never mind having seven paragraphs about it.
Curious on other examples given that it's happened a bunch.

Holy **** thats crazy... was this common knowledge amongst wrestling fans? wtf
I feel like I only learned about Moolah’s shady past in the past couple of years. Since the company always had her back, and since a lot of this was before most of our times, it probably wasn’t as widely known as other scandals.
