I was debating on posting this earlier but since The Hulkster came up, I will. I saw this last night:

Quote:
Hulk Hogan did a Q&A over his YouTube Channel from his beach shop in Orlando. During a particular portion of the Q&A, Hogan was asked to share his favorite moment from his storied wrestling career and here’s what the “Hulkster” had to say:

“When I won the WWF Heavyweight Title in Madison Square Garden, January 23, 1984 from the Iron Sheik. But there’s a backstory to it, we go back many years when I was going to the University of South Florida, majoring in finance and management with a minor in music. After a bunch of years of going to college and quitting to play music several times, I finally quit for good to be a professional wrestler. It just killed both my parents, it ruined their hopes and dreams for me. So there was a very strained relationship for quite a long time with me and my Mom and Dad. Then, at Madison Square Garden where I beat the Iron Sheik, I had both my parents in the audience, sitting next to Vince McMahon’s wife, Linda McMahon. When I came back with the belt, Andre was pouring champagne on my head, my Dad and Mom came to the dressing room. They both said how proud they were of me and they were very happy that I made that decision to be a wrestler.”
I love how in this rendition of history, the AWA and already being the top guy in the industry prior to going to NY in 1984 just didn't happen.

I don't think he's saying it didn't happen, I think he's saying that it wasn't until MSG that they told him they were proud since he mentioned "a very strained relationship for quite a long time".

And there is a big difference between headlining in Minneapolis and winning the World Championship at MSG.

Graves is now on Raw and Smackdown. That's definitely good news.

I had thought at first too, but to me at least, he's saying that he wasn't successful until then and that's when his parents were proud. Perhaps I'm reading it wrong. *shrug*

Found this pretty interesting, and a little scary if true.

So true! He makes listening to the Announcing Team so much more fun - he can be Funny sometimes / sometimes heelish - so happy Vince picked up on him - on the other side JBL leaving is pretty sad though... i remember the times he and Cole killing it on the booth and was always fun listening to him

JBL was a great commentator for about three weeks.

Unfortunately, he held the job for four and a half years.

The Lawler heart attack does feel like a decent while ago, and that's when JBL returned.

He covered for Lawler in 2012, and became full time in March 2013. I was surprised too.

Cole has been play by play for one show or another since 1997. 5 more years, he surpasses Vince's reign as pbp announcer (1971 - 1997).

There's a rumored Survivor Series match in the making between the Four Horsewomen of NXT (Flair, Lynch, Banks, Bayley) against a group of headed by Ronda Rousey. Don't know what the face/heel dynamic would be in that scenario. Rousey may stick around and become a permanent part of the women's division.

Based on watching the Mae Young Classic, the MMA women would definitely be heels as invaders of WWE or something.

I have no real interest in the match, but it would probably get some eyeballs on the product and it explains why they're not doing much with Sasha/Bayley/Charlotte/Becky right now.

Why no interest in the match/SL? That sounds awesome and one of the first actually interesting things the women's division has done since Charlotte's heel run on Raw/anything involving Alexa.

Isn't one of the other ones (Marina?) married to Roddy Strong too? Seems like they could manage a decent match out of it. They just can't book Ronda as invincible anymore after her losses but if they're willing to have the wwe crew go over it should be good enough

I saw on twitter and some podcasts that people are mad about the Xmas day show or whatever.

Feels like a weird thing to get mad about. Who cares if they want to run a show on Xmas? Whatever.

If people are mad that talent are being forced to work that day then I get it, though it's nothing that other pro athletes are able to get away from either.

Oh, I just don't care about MMA personally and the basis for the feud (both groups calling themselves "horsewomen") seems kinda dumb. But there's definitely ways they could do it that could get me into it.

I think on the WWE Facebook Page was an akward Video some days ago showing both "Horsewomen" groups during a "Staredown" - i guess this also hints at some kind of match happen in the future

It might have meant something 12 months ago when WWE's Horsewomen were dominating the two women's divisions. Now you have both Bayley and Sasha having lost their feuds with Alexa Bliss and aren't even in the Raw women's title picture, and neither Charlotte nor Becky have sniffed a chance at the Smackdown women's title since WrestleMania.

From a kayfabe standpoint right now, if you had to choose the four top WWE women right now based how they have been booked, it's Alexa, Nia, Natalya and Naomi.

I just don't care about women's wrestling. If they hired talented wrestlers instead of models who are uncoordinated messes, I'd care.

Women's wrestling requires elite athletes or it looks insanely slow IMO, there just aren't enough people like Charlotte or Io Shirai in the business.

I literally laughed when I read this:

Quote:
Dave Meltzer believes the reason behind early John Cena - Roman Reigns feud is to get Roman over with the fans. Officials see this Wrestlemania as Roman Reigns coronation and they want to build him up for big moment

otoh, it's just what Big Dave believes. Having Vince or a front office person saying it would be gold (, Jerry, gold).
