Seems like they are WAY overvaluing the NXT title.

Nakamura and Joe have no business anywhere near the top 10, and I'd probably boot Roode out of there as well.

Come to think of it, KUSHIDA could've been in the top 10. IWGP Jr. Heavyweight champ for over 200 days in that time frame and great match after great match. Oh and he also held the ROH TV title for the last month of that time frame as well.

Didn't realize this. Thought it was plain power rankings.

Just found the following at this link

Quote:
– Props to PWI for placing recognizing the star power of Neville, placing him at #11 overall.

– Bray Wyatt winning his first WWE Championship was enough to get him into the top 20, at #15, but still feels a bit high for the uneven year Wyatt had.

– NJPW may have been light within the top 10, but they’re well represented within the top 50: Tetsuya Naito – #12, KUSHIDA – #20, Katsuyori Shibata – #23, Zack Sabre Jr. – #26, Cody – #33, Hiroshi Tanahashi – #39, Nick Jackson – #40, Matt Jackson – #42, Ricochet – #46, and Hiromu Takahashi – #48.

– Not sure that Jinder Mahal has been Champion long enough to justify a #30 finish for the year, hard to forget him being embarassed by Mojo Rawley at WrestleMania 33.
It pains me to see Tanahashi behind Mahal...well a bunch of these guys, actually . Nice to see Neville at 11. I still think KUSHIDA should've been higher than 20, though.

It's fun to talk about regardless of if people take it serious or not.....

Joe only had the NXT title for about 75 days during that time frame

To be fair, NXT is probably the #2 promotion in the US, and maybe #3 in the world. With that said having the three champs in the top 10 might be a bit much, but that always been PWI's M.O. with regards to their kayfabe rankings

Does anyone think Asuka wouldn't/shouldn't be #1 if they did a woman's version? In fact, they should probably even leave #2 blank to emphasize the gap between here and everyone else.

The thing about the NXT heavyweight title though, they make it feel like it's something more than a prop, so their champions seem more important. KO's Universal reign was the drizzling ****s. His championship played second fiddle to a list.

If that's the justification, where on earth are the Authors of Pain?

They never lost in that time frame. Debut, Dusty Tournament, Tag Titles.

They were dominant. Surely they look better in kayfabe than ****ing Rusev.

How do you rate them as singles if they wrestle as a team? And if you figure that out, how do you rank them when they beat people like Tomasso Ciampa, Blake Murphy, and Scott Dawson and Nakamura is beating Finn Balor and Samoa Joe?

Is there a separate tag team ranking? The Young Bucks are rated highly, and they rarely do singles stuff, right?

I believe that in addition to the Women's Top 50, they do a Tag Team Top 25.

No more JBL on Smackdown commentary. He's stepping down to spend more time on the charity he runs.

Seth Rollins on losing the curbstomp:

Quote:
“No more blonde and the Curb Stomp is gone, guys. It’s not my fault. Trust me. It’s not like I was (saying), ‘oh yes, I want a new finisher.’ No, they snatched it from me. They took it from me. No, so this is what happened, okay? After WrestleMania, I had won the (WWE) title, and I flew across the country to do the Today Show. For the Today Show, they put together a package of all of Seth Rollins’ awesome maneuvers. At the time, my finish was the Curb Stomp. So Vince McMahon is sitting wherever Vince McMahon sits on a Monday morning and he’s seeing me on the Today Show and I look good in a suit. I’m representing the company. I look good in a suit. And I’m wearing the title and then he sees this package of me stomping another man’s head into the ground and it being called the Curb Stomp on national television. And he thought to himself, ‘well, that’s not a good representation of what I want my top guy to do,’ so he just had a meeting with some of his people, and they decided, ‘well, we don’t need it – we can figure out another finish for you’ and the rest is history. I get it. I hate it. I think it’s silly, but it is what it is and it’s not my company. I’m doing the best I can with it. I get it from a marketing standpoint. I totally understand it. I hate it because it was such a great finish. It was easy and could do it to everybody, but, hey, so it my cool knee now, so let’s start liking that.”
This is pretty interesting because the assumed reason that he lost it was because of concussion reasons. The only other interesting thing is him saying "I look good in a suit" twice.
