On Table for 3 JBL said that the Shield didn't draw as a team but Roman does solo.

I'll say that I think Roman's far more of a draw than the other two since the split....but The Shield not a draw? Come on.

Side note: they can't draw me in. I've probably watched < 15 minutes of WWE tv since the Nakamura/Ziggler match on ppv whenever that was. The SummerSlam card isn't shaping up to be great either. The 4-way is guaranteed to be awesome. The rest. Not so much. I don't see any appeal in Nakamura/Jinder so I don't even care to see Nak. Hopefully it's Styles/Nak at WM

He's not entirely wrong. As a faction, The Shield didn't really accomplish anything. They had a short run with the tag team titles and the US title, and they won a bunch of meaningless 6 man tag matches on PPV. The New Day have had a better run than The Shield did, although obviously none of the members of New Day are ever going to main event WrestleMania or anything after they break up.

One of the dumbest things I've ever seen in wrestling.

I was at the gym earlier, and one of the TVs had The Price is Right on with no sound. I am pretty sure I just saw Lillian Garcia win out of Contestant's Row and made it to a bidding game.

Ringer podcast was suggesting that Dean and Seth unite, win the tag titles, then help Roman win the Universal title, to turn The Shield into a heel faction again. (Or would that turn Roman face?)

That seems nearly 100% to make everyone a face.

Hot take: a shield reunion would do nothing for anyone at this point.

Shield attacking Stroman might actually make them heel.

If I booked summerslam I'd have Rollins start the match, fight for 10 minutes, finally hit the hot tag, have Ambrose immediately Dirty Deeds him, say he'll never forget, and walk out.

Kind of like flair did to sting

It's funny how much we revere that 1995 Flair/Sting angle given how objectively stupid it was. Pillman and Arn and Flair go around beating the **** out of each other for months, all just for the purpose of eventually making Sting look really stupid one night.

...okay, even as I typed that out, it still sounds awesome.

This would be great if only because it requires the bare minimum of Dean Ambrose "wrestling" or whatever he calls what his performance art.

But then that would actually be a cool swerve that makes sense and is interesting, despite leading to more Dean Ambrose matches.

What happened that allowed WWE wrestlers to remember things that happened more than three months ago? It never used to be that way.

I disagree. It would be bad for Reigns, but good for Rollins and Ambrose. Rollins and Ambrose have been so terrible lately that there's no way a Shield reunion wouldn't be better.

Flair was taken to an ER by his family sometime in the afternoon of 8/12 and he was admitted to ICU with heart issues. Soon after, his rep stated there was no need for concern and it was a usual check-up (which is just baffling to try to spin). Now his rep says this:

Seemed like a bit of a spin originally. People don't normally end up in ICU for something routine. Was hoping I was just being overly skeptical and wouldn't later see his condition downgraded. Hope he recovers.

Reddit now says Flair is in a medically induced coma!

ESPN says the same: http://www.espn.com/wwe/story/_/id/2...y-induced-coma

Meltzer said this:

"He's out of surgery.

It's good that he's out of surgery.

It's still real bad. I had it just told to me in some detail, not exactly identical, but very similar to what happened to my dad. However, his kidneys are functioning which is the main difference and no cancer issues."

It was Dusty's death a couple years ago that got me back into wrestling after a decade. And I wasn't even a Dusty fan--to me, he was the antagonist and Flair was the protagonist. Flair was my favorite wrestler for a really long time.

Hope he gets well soon.

Macho Man's death got me back in in 2011 right before Summer of Punk. Like it jolts you back into remembering how much joy wrestling brought you.
