They'd obviously feed Bryan to Cena after the turn instead of giving him the title.

That's what I'm afraid of. He just seems super over right now and I just know they are going to kill it and bury him. I just hope the fans keep supporting him like they did with the Rock, but if he's booked really dumb he'll fizzle out.

Bryan/Broomstick would be a match of the year candidate.

Getting ahead of ourselves anyway. With Bryan's current crowd reactions I doubt they're dead set on turning him, and God knows they don't book their angles more than two weeks in advance.

I'm sure they're more in a "wait to see how crowds react to Bryan vs. Orton and go from there" mode.

fwiw, bryan/orton/kane handed the shield their first loss on smackdown tapings, bryan went over rollins

had to happen sooner or later, with bryan going supernova lately there probably wasn't a better time

Yeah that sounds fine to me. Undefeated streaks just limit booking once they become a thing.

i dont see why bryan wouldnt go over if they elevate him to that feud

cena has had no problem putting people over in the last few years (lots of people said miz and punk werent going over cena either), and the wwe seems to be willing to strap anyone

this isnt ryback, this is a guy thats been around a while with a lot of crowd support and a proven hard worker. i can definitely see bryan winning

I mean Cena never puts anyone over at all, but he does occasionally lose after things like being hit by meteorites and what not.

Bryan may have some kind of shot to go over in some fashion. Maybe.

(Let the record show that over half this board did pick Miz over Cena in the WM pool two years ago, so it isn't true that nobody thought Miz could go over.)

Wait
A) who didnt think miz was going over due to rock at WM?
B) Did he legit go over once? I dont recall the whole thing but I remember a rather embarassing I Quit booking.
C) Who didnt think punk had a reasonable chance at going over a few times?

Nowhere close to legit going over once for Miz, and the I Quit booking was absurd.

Punk's first win was clean as wins over Cena go, but he wasn't a heel that night anyway.

a couple of things about this:

1) 2+2 isnt the whole wrestling internet
2) the picks were done just before wm; after it became evident miz had more of a chance. in the lead up to that wm, there were a lot more people saying cena was for sure going over...

and miz at wm was at least somewhat clean i thought. at least it was a lot cleaner than miz-lawler sigh

i quit booking still remains in my mind the worst non-rock match of the last 5 years... definitely made me want to stop watching entirely

but the main reason i think bryan goes over is: apart from punk's reign most title runs are short nowadays. cena making it through ryback and bryan while they build up a 3rd contender just seems unlikely. even if bryan doesnt get many, if any, clean victories, i feel they at least temporarily strap him through the feud.

I mean okay, but your "lots of people didn't think this" was in direct response to a 2p2 poster saying Bryan didn't have a chance, so the implication seemed clear enough.

Winning on someone else's finisher? I mean it magically was made no DQ on the fly or some such thing so I get that it was technically suddenly allowed, but when Miz himself is just a pawn in the win there's not much to be said for what it does for him.

Which I guess was sort of my whole point in "Cena loses sometimes but he almost never puts anyone over.

Anyway you could be right about Bryan going over in this hypothetical feud. I hope they don't just briefly strap anyone for quite a while, and I'd sooner they just run Bryan as the other top babyface than to give him a short title run, but what you're saying is possible.

Bryan is more likely to feud for the heavyweight title imo. But not just yet

While plans can always change, the feeling backstage in WWE is that the current McMahon story line will end up with Triple H taking all power from Vince McMahon. The story line itself is being heavily featured on TV because USA sent word to WWE that the network wanted more McMahons on TV to help with sluggish ratings.

The smackdown mitb match is all heel. We might get a face turn from someone? Maybe Fandango?

Dean Ambrose vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Jack Swagger vs. Fandango vs. Wade Barrett vs. Damien Sandow vs. Antonio Cesaro

Anyone but Swagger please. Rooting for Ambrose, but I think Cesaro is going to win.

0% Swagger wins after recent DUI. Would love to see Cesaro win and put Zeb Colter back into a feud with Del Rio. Still think Barrett is favourite though.

I just hope the winner is a fresh face in the title picture. Hopeful for Cesaro or Sandow. Rhodes, Barrett and Swagger should have reached the "elite" status by now. I just think they are just treading water career wise. Ambrose and Fandango need more sustained success before even holding the secondary world title. Feel that Rollins should be World Champion before Ambrose.

Sandow's gimmick doesn't work for a world title run and I give him almost no chance.
