Christopher's outfit was even more absurd than I had imagined. One of the many sad things is it looks like that crowd might be bigger than any U.S. promotion other than WWE draws now.

Yeah I can't get over Brian Christopher. That whole first show is a complete trainwreck, it's amazing they became and stayed the number 2 company for 15 years.

Someone was asking about MVP the other day. He was hired by Lucha Underground as an agent a week ago and was just fired because he had LU talent on his podcast which was a breach of his contract. I'm seeing comments of people saying he has now burned bridges with TNA, WWE and LU. Does anyone know what the history is with the WWE? I thought he just asked for his release and it was granted. Is there more to that story?

edit: side note, reading about that made me youtube MVP and reminded me of this music video. It's not worth watching the whole thing because it's awful but at 3:26 Hernandez almost botches a Razor's Edge and murders some girl. Pretty scary.

The real worst promo of all time has to go to TNA's "my kind" segment. Some backstory:

It was TNA's first show ever and people had paid $10 to watch. The previous segments involved Ed Ferrara interviewing strippers, a stripper interviewing a midget, a team called The Flying Elvis's and another team called The Johnsons who were literally dressed to look like penises.

One segment saw Borash introduce two nascar drivers which got the biggest pop of the night since the show was taped in Alabama. They express their love for wrasslin when R Truth interrupts them and starts to talk about how his kind dunk basketballs while their kind drive around in circles. Alabama gives him nuclear heat. One of the nascar dudes gets a huge pop when he says something like "how can we take anything you say seriously looking like you look." Truth attacks him and out comes the most ridiculous choice ever considering what was just said; Brian Christopher wearing his Too Cool gear. They just dissed Truth for basically being a black guy and then brought out the one white guy on their roster that pretends to look and act like a black guy. He beats down Truth, throws him out of the ring and then says "how about your kind, take on my kind in a match" in his fake rapper accent and the crowd loves it. It's kind of funny that they chose Christopher over literally anyone else but the whole segment is just wrong.

Edit: found the vid

I thought you were going to bad mouth lollipop girl. We would have had problems.

For obvious reasons, Nakamura and Asuka (and presumably Balor, Anderson, and Gallows) will be heavily featured in Japan.

Before he debuted the word going around was that Nakamura at NXT was temporary and that it's unlikely he will have any actual angles on the show. I think there's a very good chance what you said will happen.

Ricochet and Sydal dropped the jr tag titles tonight. Ricochet on his way to the WWE and has potential to be a mega star in my opinion.

Puma's confirmed going to WWE? Mixed feelings on that if true.

Not confirmed but he has stopped taking indy bookings at the end of June, hasn't re-signed with LU and the WWE CW tourn starts in July.

And yeah, mixed feelings here too. NXT needs a star once Balor and Joe are called up and he would fill that spot very nicely. On the other hand, LU loses Prince Puma .

I'm not sure. I'm just going by what Meltzer and others are saying on twitter. I read that he will be on LU S3 but was booked in a way that he could be leaving because he hasn't signed onto S4 yet. I didn't want to be spoiled so I didn't read the tapings.

It gets better every time. That's a figure of speech btw.

Supposedly his contract states he can't go anywhere until 6 months after season 3 airs

Who does Hogan think he is? Joey Ryan?

Like Andre at WMIII, it probably gets bigger everytime Hogan talks about it.

I have a feeling a lot of it is him being 38 and basically running through the motions for the last few years.

His Beer Money days and for about 1yr after their breakup he was at the top of his game. Then he started going down hill. He just doesn't seem like the same guy, imo.

Yeah, basically and he wasn't going to be able to coast in the WWE. He's not a guy that will wow you with a move set, he's a decent talker, and he drinks beer. They've already had guys that drink beer.

TNA was supposedly still giving out big guaranteed contracts thinking they could make the money back by sending the wrestlers off to work indie shows (and getting the money that would have gone to the wrestlers).
