That is a pretty silly comment. I would think winning the title at the end of the night is a damn good come back.

Yeah, I would have thought that to be something from a YouTube comments section. Of all the bad writing from that night, I can't see any problem with that moment from either character's end.

Yeah, it's like how Orton beat Rollins at Mania, then when Rollins won the title later on, an Orton vs Rollins feud was setup. We were just asking what is next for Reigns now that he is the champ. But the odds will be tough to overcome because Steph puts over fewer people than Cena does.

Steph might not necessarily physically put over male talent because they can't touch her, but females like Vicky Guerrero and Rhonda Rousey came out ahead of her in the not too distant past.

I don't find Meltzer's comment untrue at all. Nor do I think mooro is wrong. She gets to do anything she wants and never gets any comeuppance because for some pussified reason, male wrestlers can't beat the **** out of women.

One was leaving the company and one isn't in it. That still isn't putting anyone over. She's a useless character.

She slaps the **** out of him, she gets a bunch of heat for it, builds sympathy in Roman because he's in a tough spot where he's getting hit but isn't supposed to hit back, he gets some pent-up rage and if done well then the audience vicariously feels some of that pent-up rage on his behalf. Later in the night he stands victorious, in a rare moment where he gets a big pop. I think there's a very reasonable chance that at least some fraction of that pop is owed to a feeling of catharsis, certainly not all due to the slapping scene but probably partly due to it.

There's little to suggest that the Steph segment hurt him and there's some evidence (in the form of that pop at the end of the show) to suggest that it did at least a little something to help him.

Except Steph's segments almost never have any kind of positive impact when Vince isn't there, so we can reasonably conclude that the improved reaction is due to Vince. Because he takes bumps and allows the wrestlers to make him look like a jackass, like just about every worthwhile heel non-wrestler ever.

It might have been all due to Vince, I grant you. Steph obviously doesn't have Vince's on-screen value, but few do. I guess I'm blanking on Steph's past segments where she did anything like this, so I have trouble comparing.

Either way it never would have possibly occurred to me that Reigns was in any way hurt by that segment, and I still really can't see it. The only small issue I can maybe see is that he reacted by doing the "I'm Roman, I'm so cool that I'm smiling at this" bit when portraying suppressed rage would have probably been better, but that part isn't a Steph issue.

I can't recall her physically assaulting male talent previously, but she's definitely verbally emasculated just about the entire roster, most famously the Big Show probably. It's just odd that to bring it up now because Reigns is one of the few who has come out ahead.

I'd agree most of the other stuff has to stop because it often hurts talent, but
A) I had no problem with it this time because the person she did it to did not back down or become subservient, but even came out on top in the end
B) Sometimes I still don't even care because Steph might be the most entertaining character on a show with not very many entertaining people anymore.

Stephanie clearly takes after her mother. She's an empty suit. The only thing that sets her apart is copious amounts of cosmetic surgery.

To paraphrase JR, if you were to look up basic bitch in the urban dictionary, you'd probably find a picture of Stephanie McMahon.

Quote:
Someone who is unflinchingly upholding of the status quo and stereotypes of their gender without even realizing it. She engages in typical, unoriginal behaviours, modes of dress, speech, and likes. She is tragically/laughably unaware of her utter lack of specialness and intrigue. She believers herself to be unique, fly, amazing, and a complete catch, when really she is boring, painfully normal, and par. She believes her experiences to be crazy, wild, and different or somehow more special than everything that everybody else is doing, when really, almost everyone is doing or has done the exact same thing. She is typical and a dime a dozen. There are many subtypes of basicness, such as the basic ratchet, the basic sorority bitch, the basic groupie bitch, the basic I'm-so-Carrie-from-Sex-and-the-City bitch, etc, but ultimately, they all share the common thread of being expendable and un-noteworthy and, in some cases, having absolutely no redeeming qualities.

Didn't she slap D Bry around the same way as Reigns?

I like Benoit's reaction in the hallway where he acts like it's nothing and smiles at her around 1:40.

Lesnar wrestled Del Rio at a house show and Rusev interfered. Not sure if it was to setup a feud though because Lesnar laid out Rusev after already. Then again, Reigns already laid out that whole faction...

I don't really get why lesnar is wrestling house shows? if he wants a limited schedule, shouldn't he only do some raws and ppvs?

They might be trying to get people to believe house shows are important or otherwise worth going to again. House show business is down. And house show tickets are expensive and people that go spend a lot on merch on average, so this is really costing them money.

I wonder how much value there would be in doing low budget tapings of a few house shows here and there for the network.

I was thinking that myself. I thought maybe two Sundays a month you could have house shows. It would be better programming than the PPV reruns they currently show on non PPV Sundays. With that said, I don't know what the costs would be and it would also require WWE to admit that they are a pro wrestling organization

A decent list of the 8 best matches of the year complete with videos from 8 different promotions. Thought I'd share. Enjoy!

That is a good list. Kota vs Nakamura is my favourite on there.

Has anyone watched that Kairi Hojo vs Meiko Satomura match? The write up sounds awesome and the gifs are brutal.

Nakamura is such a beast, I wonder if anyone will bite the bullet and bring him over as top tier talent in the US soon since he speaks good english.
Wrestling- NVG (SPOILERS inside view at your own risk) Quote

Nobody in the US can come close to affording the amount it would cost to lure Nakamura from New Japan other than WWE. He's so over in the ROH/NJPW shows, even compared to other top New Japan and ROH guys so he has great appeal in the US, so he could be worth it. But he has injuries and works like a couple dozen singles matches a year (tons of six to ten man tag type matches), so isn't remotely near a WWE schedule where they would probably want him to wrestle 180+ singles per year.
