Yup. I seriously think that she an absolute mega-star if the writers give her half a chance.

(Of course, they're doing a good job of ****ing up Sasha Banks at the present time, so......)

To be fair, I don't think they're ****ing up Sasha, they're just not doing anything interesting with her. When she does appear they put her over pretty big. I think there's a very good chance we see her hold the title for a decent amount of time when she gets it.

Yeah it was pretty obvious they weren't going to the WWE after posting that pic in the balor shirts.

edit: they can still wrestle in pwg and njpw so I guess nothing is really changing.

Bayley comes out and hugs people and is always happy. She can't really talk and they're just starting to allow the females get over in the ring. The smark cities will be into her at first, but that will go away. She'll turn into the face version of Kofi Kingston with that gimmick in a few months at most. Happy and friendly since Austin kicked that out the window nearly 20 years ago.

I agree. I don't see it as a huge deal that she didn't get the first title push from the call-ups. Her whole faction is in place to feature her. She'll be fine.

This. Plus how about an actual slow build to a payoff at Wrestlemania?

Yeah that's what I'm hoping they're waiting for.

If they're holding off on a Sasha push until they are ready to put the belt on her, who should be the champ when they finally pull the trigger?

The match with Sasha was a great example of how the gimmick can work. Bayley hugs and is nice, but she still wants to win, and it is an easy thing for heels to play off of (you don't have the "killer instinct" etc). I also think the talent of the individual is a huge factor, and my experience has been that Bayley really sells and seems to live her gimmick in a way that makes it work.

The match and story she had with Sasha will never happen on Raw.

If they bring Bayley up, they should reset her character to be more naive in the same way that when the Dudleys first appeared in WWE, Bubba went back to stuttering. Treating her like people should understand her character from watching NXT would be a mistake.

Charlotte/Paige/Becky really seem to be the only options. God help me if they strap a ****ing Bella again.

I've seen the Bayley underdog story before, and nothing will beat the NXT Brooklyn payoff.

Bayley Dudley FTW.

WWE had their quarterly earning review today. Long story short, they're making more bank than ever. But...

From Gearge Barrios, CFO of WWE
Quote:
"A caller finally brought up television ratings! Barrios said they don’t just think about one metric, they think about all of them together. He said that when you put them all together they are bigger and more engaging with their product than ever before. He conceded that you don’t want to drop and they are working to change that. He said he thinks the content is great. He said he thinks they are doing well compared to everyone else. Barrios said the ratings for WWE programming is significantly better than the overall USA Network and Syfy ratings." Syfy ratings."
Nothing will ever change.

On a more serious note, hopefully that's the corporate answer and they're actually looking for way to make the content not suck.

Seems like they always say the content is great and defend it from a critical/creative standpoint in things like that.

"I guess my biceps are too big for its tendons."

On a potential WWE return, Batista said that he wouldn't want big money or a limited schedule. He said that for WWE to get him to return, they have to book him on house shows so he can just wrestle and interact with the audience, not have to deal with the WWE writers and creative team.

In following up his issues with creative, which Batista referred to as "Butting heads", he noted that when he came back for his last run, he told WWE to make him a heel because he's a terrible babyface but WWE wouldn't listen. Then, the fans rejected him and it became a "state of confusion" where the creative team sent him out to say the same "crap" every week.

Seems like Batista could have been saving face saying he told them to make him a heel.
