The music sounded the same but I couldn't hear any lyrics but there was a pretty big pop and then NXT chant when he came out

This is one of the funniest things I've read regarding anything anybody has ever done in pro wrestling.

Vince McMahon everybody:

Before Smackdown! tapings begin:
Quote:
Pre-Show Notes:

- Arena is roughly 3/4 empty. Maybe 4000 total in attendance. Security telling everyone to only stand and make noise during entrances.

.....................

WWE Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens def. Neville with a Pop Up Powerbomb. During the match, Owens tried to run around ringside and hide. Security forced anyone who stood up to sit back down, some almost violently.

I think that's probably more one or two security people not quite understanding their directions. Standard for security to make people sit during the matches, that's happened every show I've been to. I was in 4th row and when there was action on the floor we would stand, then when that ended, security would give the "sit down" hand motion.

Is it standard for Raw and SD to have the camera side tarped off like that or is that just not a big wrestling city or something?

Pretty standard for SmackDown. When Raw is in Austin it is usually full.

Raw, Smackdown, and house show attendance are all down. Raw had Lesnar and Undertaker, HBK, and Austin who are all from Texas, where the show was. Wonder how few they would have had without all the legends.

In light of these business concerns, it's pretty surprising that Vince has been this patient with Rollins. Feels like Vince has made panic booking moves over far less in the past.

I read a press release for the president of New Japan saying that they are considering working with the WWE and there is potential for New Japan content to find its way on to the WWE Network. Interesting

What would be his panic move? Cena is leaving for a while and Orton is hurt. There is no safe play.

I don't know specifically which way they would go, but I still would have expected a title switch and trying with someone else rather than just sort of slowly bleeding out with their current direction.

It might also help if they had a hot face chasing Rollins.

ie not Sting and not Kane.

The reign of Rollins has lasted longer then about 33 of the last 35 world title reigns, and he is about to pass Lesnar too. Reigns gets the heat for it, but it seems Rollins and Reigns are both hand picked guys.

I bet Daniel Bryan takes the US Title from Cena. WWE is in panic mode they probably tell him he's 100% cleared. Wouldn't suprise me too much.

Well the top heel isn't supposed to be the guy who sells tickets, especially in a pg show, so getting the belt off him does nothing especially when there's nobody viable to put it on

I watched an orton/ambrose promo from either last raw or the raw before it and holy **** was it bad. Ambrose blows

And how is reigns still getting mic time? Why would you ever let him talk? Jesus

The wrestling is terrible and repetitive as ****, the divas revolution is beyond idiotic, there are too many promos by ppl who shouldn't talk and the top face getting the most screen time on the show is ****ing KANE

How is any of this crap supposed to equal ratings?

Apparently in a backstage or in ring promo before his match on Smackdown, Bo Dallas accepted the Open Challenge. This really doesnt jive with how it has been booked since Cena won the belt back at WM, so I doubt that is how it will go down at HIAC, but if it is and Dallas were to win it, at least it would be something different

Bo Dallas has a gimmick of being beat up by star wrestlers. He even got beat up by Rock at a house show this year IIRC. So he might come out, and then the real challenger comes out, beats him down, then wrestles Cena.

I find it more likely that Bo Dallas gets taken out backstage or on the way to the ring by the actual challenger than him actually competing for it.

WWE has been posting (but not airing on Raw) vignettes of Heath Slater trying, but failing to accept the challenge. First, he went to the wrong Gorilla position. Second, he tries to find a sound guy to play his music, but is actually talking to an IT guy instead.

You have to wonder why they are bothering with it, because if there's anyone in WWE less likely to win a title than Bo Dallas, it would be Heath Slater.

The top heel is supposed to be someone who a large audience wants desperately to see get his comeuppance. The best heels can get their opponents over huge, even opponents who can't really get there on their own, like when WCW fans lost their **** when Dean Malenko finally got to Chris Jericho from under the Ciclope mask.

I think there's a lot of responsibility on the top heel to get ratings and sell tickets.

So who exactly drew the houses when Ric Flair was the NWA champ in the 80's?
