that's pretty funny though i'd bet a lot of money that rock is at the rumble. i mean by that logic he shouldn't have been at wm last year because the buyrate for that ppv is the strongest of the year no matter what.

Where do you have that from? That makes no sense, it's not like the WWE would have let Punk keep the belt for this long was it not that he was penciled in to face the Rock in a big match for the title.

they SHOULD have announced the rock in the rumble itsself.

he would obviously be given the win, but he would interact with alot more of the roster, giving a bit of a rub to everyone.

and then the SUPER MAIN EVENT of the rock going for the WWE CHAMPION CM PUNK at WRESTLEMANIA in NEW YORK (lol new jersey) would be made. biggest buyrate mania in... ever possibly?

If the Rock is done with the WWE after Mania, it's probably a lot better for them to give him a titlerun leading up to Mania; that actually has a chance to get some decent mainstream attention just when they want it the most. They also need to give Cena the rematch win before Rock says his goodbyes, so Punk (c) against Rock at Mania doesn't seem like the most sensible direction.

the road to wrestlemania is so ****ing easy to write and have the fans be happy but Vince is already on the road to ****ing it up from the sounds of it. serious LOL if they bail on Rock v. Punk at RR.

I don't think they are considering pulling the Rock v. Punk match from Rumble at all. They promised this match almost 6 months ago, and have marketed the event and sold tickets under that premise. To pull the Rock from Rumble based on the logic that "well we'll get decent number of buys anyway and having our biggest star do 2 PPVs is better than having him do 3 PPVs" is difficult to take seriously.

They are 100% doing Punk/Rock still at the RR. That report was just a case of loldirtsheets that has since been proven false.

Yeah Punk/Rock is 100% going ahead barring major injury or whatever. I think it would be hilarious if they just pulled it though.

how to take the easy way out of giving the belt to the great one...

Quote:
For those that know me, you will know I am somewhat buddy-buddy with Jason Powell of Prowrestling.net

Now, I know he may not be Dave Meltzer in terms of getting the big scoops - but according to him, he has a source on the inside (actually one of the boys), who has informed him of major plans for tomorrow's Raw and the weeks/months ahead, leading up to Mania..

Apparently, Brock Lesnar is flying in for the Raw show tomorrow night. Whether he will appear on the show or not is unknown at this time, but at the very least he will be recording some promo spots for the next month or two, as he begins his feud with...

.. The Rock!

Apparently an angle will either begin tomorrow night or within the next few weeks/the Rumble itself, in where Lesnar will attempt to/succesfully break Rock's arm with the Kimura. There have been rumours of this for months now, but Jason's source tells him that plans have been put into full gear the last 2 weeks after the dismal 2.2 rating, which has supposedly lit a fire under Vince Mcmahon and he is pissed at the current roster.

Also, he does not know whether or not this feud will be for the WWE title, but he says Vince is leaning towards putting the belt on Rock at the Rumble, thus leading to Lesnar-Rock for the title at Mania in the main event.

Expect this to be posted at his site sometime in the next 6-8 hours, sometime before midnight EST, as he is trying to confirm it with a couple of other sources before posting to the VIP or main site areas. Jason is well known for not posting bullheaded spoilers without trying to get more confirmations first, like guys such as Dave Meltzer do (thus giving him a bad rep), which is why I trust him a lot. Also, if you don't think you can trust him - he is the guy who broke that Sheamus was winning the Rumble last year.
could be bs, it was posted on reddit after all.

funny how mcmahon is "pissed at the current roster" when he's the booker man. ohwow.jpg

Tomorrow is the last day RAW is up against football for a long time, so ratings should be up no matter what. I don't think they are heartbroken about a 2.2 rating the last two RAWs as those were on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, hardly the days for stellar ratings.

From what I've heard/read about how stuff goes on in WWE, they don't inform the talent about the big upcoming surprise angles unless they absolutely have to know. So his "boy" is one of the writers or main agents?

Having the Rock go against Lesnar raises 2 issues: Cena doesn't get his revenge, and they tie up their 2 big "guest stars" on programs with each other? Using them against their regular talent seems much more wise.

I call BS, but we'll see.

Pretty terrible for their top 3 in Punk/Cena/Orton to not be in the WM Main event. That's just unacceptable no matter what the ratings are

Just to point out the worst part:

There is absolutely no way they abandon all original plans and go into panic mode for their biggest shows and angles of the year based on the ratings RAW got on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.

Lol, I called Rock Brock about 6 months ago. Not shocked at all, though by the sounds of it unless they have kept it really secret there is no Stone Cold to take on Punk at WM for the title

Punk vs Cena for the WWE title? I dont believe Rock Brock will be involved with the gold at WM and it makes sense to me that Punk retains thanks to Brockterference at the Rumble, then he retains at the chamber and then Cena guns for it.

lesnar/rock for the title is terrible for so many reasons that i sincerely doubt it happens

lesnar/rock non-title though under those same pretenses wouldn't be bad at all

cena/punk for the title and lesnar/rock as the main event....i can get behind that

Where does that leave Taker? Doing something with the Shield maybe?

Taker vs Punk for the title would be awesome. Punk beats Rock at the RR with help of Brock (but it counts ldo) then just proclaims he has beaten everyone in the past two years and there is no one left. Gong. Buyrates shoot up.

Cena can deal with The Shield. The story is easier to plot.

Taker should be nowhere near any belt unless he's going to work FT for at least 6 months. He doesn't need it at this point anyway

Punk isn't beating Undertaker at Mania (I hope). So what happens when Taker wins the title? Some stipulation where there is a tournament or something for the belt if Taker wins it?

Rock-Brock
Punk-Taker
Cena-HHH
Shield-Rhodes Scholars-Hell No TLC for the WWE Title
Big Show-Ryback
Cesaro-Mark Henry
Some WHC match involving Orton/Sheamus/Ziggler/Del Rio

I would guess from HHH saying on-screen that Taker will be back that he will be back for this WrestleMania. He didn't specify that but I do take it as the implication.
