Because it seems more plausible that they were forced to come up the garbage they did rather than it being their first choice.

It does? Because you're usually such great storytellers?

I don't know; it doesn't particularly pass the smell test for me, mostly because it seems like Cena would have developed some sort of a reputation for politicking in his own favor by this point if that was his way of doing things. I can't readily remember seeing any stories like that about him, and now one crops up saying that he caused a derail in the booking of the women's division of all things?

Could be true, but my immediate reaction isn't to snap-believe it.

I'd rather believe Cena too. Gives me more of a reason to root against him and it means they were almost on the right track and Cena is a smaller obstacle to over-come than an entirely incompetent creative team or Vince personally.

Well the thing is that even if 3-on-3-on-3 was a plan B for them, that's not an unworkable situation to try to write a decent story for. They had weeks to build actual animosity between the characters, to write some reason for the audience to care about that match, and they truly didn't even attempt it. All we got was a series of meaningless matches with

divasrevolutiondivasrevolutiondivasrevolutiondivas revolutiondivasrevolutiondivasrevolutiondivasrevol utiondivasrevolutiondivasrevolutiondivasrevolution divasrevolutiondivasrevolutiondivasrevolutiondivas revolutiondivasrevolutiondivasrevolutiondivasrevol utiondivasrevolutiondivasrevolutiondivasrevolution divasrevolutiondivasrevolutiondivasrevolutiondivas revolutiondivasrevolutiondivasrevolutiondivasrevol utiondivasrevolutiondivasrevolution

in the background. Even if there was some ****ty political stuff in the background, there's no excuse for the creative team, since under no circumstances will I believe that anyone forcibly gave them orders not to write any kind of story.

Random, probably bad, idea: you know how Fox covers NFL football and they have former head of officiating Mike Perreira come on and explain the rules and the correct call.

WWE should do that. Bring in Nick Patrick or some other retired ref and explain what was wrong (or right) with the timekeeper ringing the bell early.

I hate it when Baghdad Mike comes on in the middle of the NFL broadcasts.

Anyway, Charles Robinson can handle a short promo explaining the whole thing; I think he already did one for WWE.com that I saw a link to earlier. HHH or whoever can do it too.

if a ref tries to give a promo explaining the end of the summerslam match they are going to get WHAT'd out of the building

The guy that CBS has would work better because he's usually clueless and wrong when they go to him.

I like this a lot.

Not necessarily a bad outcome

Also obv the divas revolution has been the biggest waste of potential in a long time, and utterly horribly booked, but I don't believe that Cena rumour for a second.

The thing is that, with Nikki bragging on-screen last night about coming up on the record title reign of AJ Lee, I would think there's a good chance she's going to lose it just short of there. A heel bragging about something like that usually gets his/her comeuppance shy of the goal.

I guess we'll see, but if that's the route they go then I could see it being something like a suggestion being made to delay a title switch by a few weeks because it's a better story, and then it being reported like it was a political power play.

It appears as though we're getting Brock vs Bo for the MSG show in October. Best use of Brock, for sure.

At least that will make more sense than his random squash of Kofi in Japan.

Bad booking idea:

Bo wrestles Brock soon. After he gets crushed, keep him off TV until Survivor Series. At Survivor Series, Wyatts vs What's Left of the Shield and whoever they recruit. At the end, it's Roman and Dean vs Bray. They are just about to finish him when all of a sudden a guy runs out. His body looks very familiar, but his hair is growing out and it looks like he hasn't shaved in 5 weeks.

It's Bo Dallas! Bo and Bray clean house. Bo cuts a promo, saying that he's Bray's brother, but was the black sheep of the family and Bray had refused to acknowledge him as family. But Brock knocked some sense into him and he knows he belongs with Bray.

The fact that they have real live brothers from a multi generational wrestling family, and dont use that somehow in story lines is a head scratcher.

It'd be like if Hall of Famer Rikishi had sons and the WWE let them languish in the tag division doing nothing.

In the abstract, trying to get Bray and Bo over without having to resort to "they are family! and they're third generation!" is not that bad. Too often, 2nd generation wrestlers are saddled with a "look who they're father is" gimmick. That's one of the reasons the IWC hated Rocky Maivia's at first--his entire gimmick was "he's a 3rd generation wrestler." (Charlotte also needs a character more fully developed than, "she's Ric Flair's daughter!")

Seeing if they could get Bo and Bray over without resorting to bringing in I.R.S., Barry Windham, and Blackjack Mulligan is refreshing. It worked for Bray. It didn't work for Bo and will never work as long as Bo is stuck in his terrible gimmick. Even sticking Bo with Bray may be a cop-out. But they should do something with Bo, if only to get the annoying Bo Dallas character off the screen. They don't even need to bring up I.R.S.

Wat? It worked like a mofo for Bo until they told him to go away and not be seen for a year or so.

Most likely because they couldn't have someone owning arenas with 'Bolieving' while Reigns was supposed to be the Man doing his 'Believe that!'.

Srsly - has anything worked better than this in recent years: ?

OK, I wasn't watching WWE earlier this year. Since he's come back, Bo's been annoying. But if they got him over before, hopefully they can do so again.
