Assuming they're still all-in on Reigns, an interesting story would be to have him lose this year, then spend the next year battling through various obstacles (authority or whatever) to get another shot at Brock (who continues to smash). Then he beats Brock at next year's Mania which was probably a more sensible timeline anyways.

Wishful thinking imo. They recognized that Lesnar is too valuable to let slip away, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't change their massive boner for Reigns.

There's next to no chance it happens, but WM ending like SummerSlam with Lesnar squashing Reigns would make up for the WOAT build.

Great news for wrestling fans, but unless the pay is way lower than I think this deal probably won't be a profitable move for WWE. Their money no longer comes largely from a few big shows because of the Network. Somebody who works only a few shows a year has to be booked so he really moves the needle on TV ratings and merch sales, and I don't trust WWE to book him well. On top of that, as good as he is and as good as Heyman is, Lesnar makes the full time wrestlers who will be on all the TV shows and all the Network supershows (formerly called PPVs) look like weak geeks in comparison, and Heyman embarrasses everybody on the mic almost to the point of exposing them.

Brock should hold the belt for awhile in part because if they don't want him to drop it to Bryan the person who he should drop it to isn't on the main roster right now. Lesnar should turn face and drop it to Owens after Owens absolutely terrorizes him and his family (as Lesnar is known as a family man and is he married to one of the biggest women stars in WWE history) eventually leading to Lesnar accepting the challenge.

That would depend on the WWE actually building someone up properly as a monster over a few months, and we all know how they barely look towards the next week.

Lesnar is going to get cheered like crazy on Sunday. He was getting cheered before when the contract situation was up in the air. I think a double turn is the WWE's best option, with Lesnar retaining.

How do they pull off a double turn without Brock losing? A pissed off face Brock might be a great thing. For that, he has to lose though.

The most important thing to me as a fan is not whether Brock wins but who his next opponent(s) are. Hopefully not all against Reigns.

Cena, bryan, reigns and rollins are the only guys on the main roster currently who they could book as credible opponents. And they've squashed cena so completely between his Bork and Rusev feuds that he might not even be a credible option anymore
