Reigns is doing fine relative to where he should be (see: a better version of ryback at the adolescence of his push)

Reigns is horrible relative to where he is (see: Ryback in title feuds at ppvs)

He's not close to ready (the survivor series interview was so ****ing cringeworthy) and this is the guy who's going over to end wrestlemania? Welp

Reigns is exceptional as the big guy on a tag team.

As a singles guy, his ringwork is meh to decent and his promos are god-awful.

The only thing that says "main event" about him is the look. They're trying way too hard with him, and the Raw crowds in places that don't suck are going to **** all over him if they keep this up.

If they're really committed to him going forward, the best thing to do would be a heel turn.

In any era of proper booking, not to mention in any possible notion of common sense, the order of things is
1. Build a guy to main event level.
2. Have him go over at the main event level.

Somehow they decided at some point that #1 isn't that important, and that you can just skip straight to 2 and just sorta hope it works out. They've done this a number of times, but this would be the first time that they're doing it at the end of a ****ing WrestleMania.

Worst part is that Reigns isn't a guy that people would really have to resent if he was pushed at the proper level/used properly. He's not an Adam Rose who has no place being anywhere on the show. It's just this determination that they're going to shoot their load with him before their pants are even off that has everyone in full Michael Scott NO GOD PLEASE NO NOOOOOOOO mode.

Watching today's forcefed main eventers is what I imagine it would be if the WWF never gave up on the Rocky Maivia gimmick

The problem is that there isn't even a main event scene any more. There's John Cena and the rest. Look at SS and the only guy on the whole card that can be considered a true main eventer is Cena.

Yup, they've booked themselves into a corner with the way they've handled Brock. Unless Bryan is ready for WM, the only options WWE has is for Brock to keep the title, LOLCENAWINS, or push someone to the main event and have him beat Brock.

A lot of these issues are intertwined. If you don't have a proper midcard scene you can't build somebody up in the usual way. If you can't build individual wrestlers you have no main event scene. And if you treat matches as if they were meaningless by talking about Twitter and corny dramas during them, and if you can't plan ahead, you won't be able to do either anyway. WWE eliminated the competition so that the large wrestling audience had little other choice. But then they did this and alienated so much of that audience! This is basically the equivalent to Coke putting Pepsi out of business and then saying "Well, we aren't going to make soda anymore."

Between now and then they could credibly build Ambrose to the point he could beat bork imo, at least as a plan b to Bryan who I think is doing thr classic shock return rumble winner story.

I think the reign of brock is both the best and worst thing to happen to that belt in a while, it all depends how it ends. Frankly I could take another year of this if it is required. The champ just shows up, beats the current top guy then says see ya in three months when someone else rises to the surface.

There seems to be a real life rift between HHH and Vince concerning the booking and pushes.

- HHH made a crack on Twitter about the brass rings after the NXT event.
- HHH didn't seem happy about Charlotte losing on Raw. Knew it didn't make sense.
- It seems that they value different guys differently, with HHH siding more with the internet community in most cases.

I'd love to see them push this and turn it into some kind of angle for WM. That would probably mean that the Authority would have to come back heel with Reigns/Cena/Ryback being Vince guys. But HHH could have Cesaro/Rollins and whoever. Then there are guys that right now probably don't fall into either camp (Ziggler) or would have to be turned heel, unless they did an entire shades of grey thing.

Anyway, that's never happening, but what should happen is a brand split again where they give HHH and his guys Smackdown with their own belt. He's already proven with NXT that he can put out a better product than Raw. What would happen if they gave him even more talent?

Vince can keep all the bulked up, boring super hero types and we'd have a great show too. Everyone is happy.

I watched this show last night.... Landsberg came off as such a clown in this.

First thing they did on the show was some cheesy promo about who punk was gonna fight.... candidates included beiber and chef bor-ar-dee...

I actually thought punk was gonna/shoulda got up and left.

Landsberg is a tool.

Somebody in a dirtsheet comment section suggested that the New Day should interrupt the nWo when they reunite at an upcoming Raw. lol

As Keith Harris noted could happen here, WWE may be planning on fast tracking storylines to rush The Authority back to television in an attempt to boost ratings.
Glad to hear that. I haven't been watching nearly as much since when the authority got written off TV.

They could cut a great promo ripping the nWO for not being positive enough.

"Fast-tracking storylines"? Does that mean they'll move it from the second hour of the upcoming Raw to the first hour of it?

Writing the heel authority off TV might have worked better if they actually had a sensible angle laid out to replace it. This is funny because they always bury WCW on specials for rewriting everything on the fly because so many people had creative control, and now they themselves have to rewrite everything on the fly because of an inability and unwillingness to plan ahead and because of general incompetence.

How much, if any, does the fact that nxt doesn't have to worry about advertisements, ratings, dealing with network execs, a brutal travel schedule, and merchandising play a part in them having a product that's much less generic across the board compared to the main product?

Daydreaming about booking WM season today, and thinking about how incredible a surprise Daniel Bryan Royal Rumble win would be, topped off with upsetting Brock at WM. I know all the rumors are that Reigns will get this push, but I propose an alternative: Have Reigns v. Cena at Mania in a WM VI redux of face v. face. Cena putting over Reigns there gives him all the push with none of the resentment that (will) come when Roman wins the Rumble--essentially full Boo-tista all over again.

Would Vince pull the trigger on two consecutive DB WM main events? Given the struggle it was for him to book WM 30, I say it's pretty unlikely, despite the enormous potential in such a direction.

All about Vince not caring about it because of all the reasons you mentioned.
