Pretty surprised at this, never thought it would actually happen. I see positives and negatives coming out of it.

As much as Dana and MMA fans hate to admit it, Lesnar is the biggest UFC draw of all time. MMA fans wanted to see him lose and WWE fans wanted to see him win. The biggest asset Lesnar gave the UFC was the WWE fans that were converted to MMA fans long after Lesnar was gone. I got into MMA because of him and now I watch almost every event. Punk and Lesnar are a lot different draws though. Lesnar looks like a legit monster and had a background and success in wrestling and competing. Punk is an average looking guy that is basically just a fan with a name and a big mouth. I doubt he will reach Lesnar's success as a competitor or a draw but he will no doubt have a similar effect. The relationship will generate stupid amounts of money for both parties.

With that said, I still think this hurts the UFC. There are a lot of legitimate good fighters out there waiting for a UFC fight and now Dana is signing an ex pro wrestler with zero experience. It hurts the integrity of the brand and the sport. When Angle was talking crap about joining the UFC, Dana said he would put him in TUF so that he could earn his spot like he did with Kimbo. At least Angle has competition experience and Kimbo could knockout people. If they did the same with Punk they would lose out on the huge debut fight PPV money but they would also save face.

Or Rousey v Punk?

Haha the lead up to that fight would be utterly incredible.

Dana should start cutting heel promos and holding back fighters so Punk can bring change to the UFC.

I love how he hates on Rock and other part timers for taking people's spots when that's exactly what he is doing now in the UFC.

Yeah, he's not taking a single person's spot on the UFC roster.

The plan for Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt at TLC is for Ambrose to be written out beforehand with his Smackdown kayfabe injury (a severe crushed trachea), and to be replaced by Roman Reigns, since he needs to look strong for the Rumble and WrestleMania and Reigns is cleared to compete.

Looking forward to

LOL REIGNS WINS

And

"Let's go Roman..
... REIGNS YOU SUCK"

for the next 15 years.

wwe is insulting it's viewers intelligence by pushing Roman Reigns down our throats. Kayfabe is dead and if Vince really listens to fans he would push the people they want pushed, not wrestlers Vince thinks "have the look"

That one seems awfully far fetched and super likely born out of cynical "let's make up the thing that will make people the most energy" rumor mongering.

I doubt the WWE, which used Dean and Bray's last match as a commercial for this one, is going to take their most over star out of a match.

Roman being involved in the Cena/Rollins match seems so much more likely- as it was Rollins with whom he had unfinished business when he was hurt.

This is silly for a lot of reasons.

1- Roman's not over with the IWC, but that's hardly reflective of the whole fanbase. He's not Fandango.

2- I hardly think what they've been doing with Roman qualifies as "shoving him town our throats". He was aggressively pushed at a time when most of their high profile babyfaces were out of action.

3- Roman's still very inexperienced and has a ton of room to improve. Thinking that he's just going to be what he is now for the next decade seems really short sighted.

with Ambrose merch selling hotter than Cena right now, he's going to get pushed higher than Reigns. Maybe writing out Ambrose to set him up for a rumble return win? WWE loves to have injury returns win the rumble - Cena, Edge, HHH, etc.

But Ambrose against Lesnar doesn't match. Is it possible, I mean it seems unlikely in theory but is it possible that they are setting up Ambrose vs Rollins at Mania for the title??

Rollins Cashes in on Lesnar, Ambrose win the Rumble. The whole Wyatt attack on Ambrose seemed desperate to move Ambrose off Rollins before he could get revenge. The headline of WWE in 2014 is Rollins betraying the Authority and the ensuing Ambrose/Rollins conflict which was never resolved.

WM31
Ambrose/Rollins (main event)
Cena/Rusev
Reigns/Lesnar
Sting/HHH

I reserve judgement for what happens in the next couple months. But as of now i hate hate hate the plans for reigns, based on what i have seen from him in the ring and on the mic thus far. Said plans make it seem like they are going to be pushing Roman Reigns really hard in the next few months. I hope i am wrong about him and he does become the next big thing. But if he is going to cut promos about "cocking a fist" then i'm just not interested. I want him to be the next big thing because he IS the next big thing, not because it's want the WWE wants to happen.

Reigns being champ is great because Reigns/Rollins OR Reigns/Ambrose writes itself if Roman can't get over.

The other problem they face is that Brock and Cena have been booked so strong when Brock finally goes over Cena, you basically can only take the belt off of him with another Superhero. You almost have to take somebody like Roman and inflate them past the point of reason to give him a credible challenge. Roman probably works in that role better than anything else you've got lying around.

Yeah the arc with Brock was about as poorly thought out as...every other story arc. They've painted themselves into a corner and will have to be creative to get out.

Reigns is hugely over with the younger crowd, so pump him up, crown his ass, and free up Ambrose to do something older crowds will like.

I still contend my idea about Rollins being marginalized (a role Orton sort of ended up playing) and eventually getting the shield back together would've made for a healthy long-term story, but lol@thinking past 5 days.

He's been in WWE for 6 years now counting FCW/NXT. He hasn't improved in the last two years. He found some signature moves that work but sucks at everything else but selling. Selling is something he can afford to suck at though because he's booked as a powerhouse. He'll improve, but not very much, and certainly not enough to be worthy of "face of the company".

I mean they do have the Bork/Reigns/Cena or whatever kick the **** out of each other and Bork retains but Rollins cashes in option... leading to Reigns/Rollins in the aftermath.

Does feel a weird "all in" to have Reigns go over Bork now.

Undertaker is currently scheduled to work WrestleMania, as has been rumored, but his opponent may not be Sting after all. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, "the booking plan right now is for Undertaker vs. Wyatt, not Sting or Lesnar." That sounds interesting.
Some sweet promos / vignettes could come from that matchup, i hope they go with it.

Taker vs Wyatt sounds likely awful in the ring, and probably awful as a story- but it COULD be pretty amazing if they hit the right notes (one of which being Taker staying the **** off the mic).

Taker vs. Cena is probably the only thing I could see intriguing me just from a story standpoint, which is weird because I individually don't really want to watch either of them at this point.
