That's not the issue. Whether he weights 218 or 205 is largely immaterial. If he really intends to fight at 185 or 170, he'll need to cut a ton of weight AND he'll be competing with younger athletes without similar injury histories and who very likely possess better speed. The lower he goes the more embarrassing it will be for him imo.
At 170 he won't be so quickly KO'ed, he'll just get solidly outpointed for 15 minutes while everyone laughs.
There's also a little issue for Dana and the UFC in terms of marketing him. With Brock, he had the bona fides (and the fact that he's a goddamn moster) to sell him as legitimate. With Punk, there's nothing there that gives any indication he won't be laughable. But you have to keep him on PPV, because if you waste his draw on UFC on Fox or something and he gets ****housed, you've blown your chance. Putting him on a PPV against a tomato can is going to draw a lot of flack too. Will be interesting to see how the schedule all of this.
