I think an I Quit match of Cena vs Taker is probably the only way we could outthink ourselves and believe Taker could lose the streak before his retirement. I think lkj's reaction is perfect for showing just how true that is.

Can I Quit matches end without someone quitting? Like how Submission matches can end on KOs?

Bret vs. Austin at WM 13 was an I Quit match and was declared over when Austin refused to quit but passed out in a pool of his own blood. So there is one big precedent.

also someone could play a recording of one of the participants saying I quit over the sound system

If they did this in a Cena-Taker WM match, finally Survivor Series 1997 would be supplanted for least popular PPV ending ever.

I thought it was so looked it up on wikipedia to make sure before posting and it says it was a submission match in three different places and I assumed they were right and I just remembered it wrong

Actually now I think those sources are right and we were wrong.

I thought that match was billed as a no-disqualification submission match, which technically is the same rules as an I quit match. Though one of the more interesting loopholes of an I quit match is that you could tap out, like you would in a submission match, but it would not count, since the person did not say I quit.

back when the submission match happened they weren't counting tap outs as give ups yet though so it really was an "I quit" match.

Anyone watching NXT? I wanted to but I have missed a bunch (need to catch up sometime). Tapings seem like my boy Seth Rollins is getting a good push

Jim Ross, William Regal, and Byron Saxton arrived for commentary.

Dark match

* Alex Riley defeated Antonio Cesaro w/Aksana via the TKO.

Episode 1

* A video is shown featuring the participants in the NXT title tournament. They are Bo Dallas, Richie Steamboat, Jinder Mahal, Tyler Reks, Drew McIntyre, Michael McGillicutty and Justin Gabriel

[clearly they have screwed up the entrants list]

* Richie Steamboat defeated Leo Kruger with the Sling Blade to advance in the tournament.

* Big E. Langston squashed Adam Mercer.

* Raquel Diaz defeated Audrey Marie via Gory Bomb. After, Raquel drew an L on Audrey’s forehead with lipstick.

* Mike Dalton & Jason Jordan defeated Hunico & Camacho via Dalton countering Hunico tossing Dalton in the air towards Camacho for a powerbomb attempt, but Dalton countered the powerbomb with a hurricanrana pinfall.

* Seth Rollins defeated Drew McIntyre via the Blackout to advance to the semifinals of the tournament.

Episode 2

* Michael McGillicutty defeated Justin Gabriel via McGuillicutter to advance to the semifinals in the tournament.

* Kassius Ohno defeated CJ Parker via Rolling Elbow.

* Jinder Mahal defeated Bo Dallas via Camel Clutch to advance in the tournament.

Episode 3

* Paige & Tamina Snuka defeated Kaitlyn & Kaylee Turner via Small Package by Paige on Kaylee.

* Heath Slater came out to issue an open challenge which was answered by Orlando’s own Scotty Too Hotty

* Scotty Too Hotty defeated Heath Slater via The Worm.

* The Usos beat Kenneth Cameron & Conor O’Brian by DQ when Conar pushed one of the Usos of the top rope to the floor when he wasn’t the legal man. After, they hit Total Elimination on the other Uso.

* Jinder Mahal defeated Richie Steamboat via Camel Clutch to advance to the finals of the tournament.

* Seth Rollins defeated Michael McGillicutty via Blackout to advance to the finals of the NXT Championship Tournament.

* Afterwards, Jinder Mahal came out and stared at Rollins. Dusty came out and said the finals are set as Jinder attempted to attack Rollins but Rollins got the upperhand.

* Kane defeated Cody Rhodes via Chokeslam. Kane appeared to have tweaked his knee at some point during the match.

Notes

* Next taping is July 26th featuring the NXT Champion being crowned in a match between Seth Rollins & Jinder Mahal.

* Commentary did not seem to be going on for Kane/Cody so I’d assume that’s a dark match for the live crowd. Slater/Scotty might be as well seeing as Scotty is from here, but they may end up airing it due to the reception he received.

* Due to the way they have been airing the episodes, some matches may be on at different points than I am thinking they will air between the three. There is no real distinguishable stop time between episodes so I apologize if it is not 100% accurate.
Having Jinder make it to the final is odd, but I guess this is being heavily heavily pushed in India so that would explain it. Rollins is going over anyway to be the inaugural NXT champion.

I am looking forward to seeing Paige, aka Britani Knight, too. She is just 19 yet has 6 years wrestling experience and is from Britain's equiv of the Hart family. She was a little raw when I last saw her on SHIMMER (her dropkick to the corner is notoriously horrible) but she has strong mic skills, is a complete master at drawing heat using the stick (esp when cutting on American crowds) and is also really hot so the sky is the limit.

In "who will face Undertaker at WM" news.

Quote:
There are now three names being discussed to be The Undertaker's opponent at Wrestlemania 29: The Rock, Brock Lesnar and John Cena.

The decision of who Undertaker will face has been left up to him. Even though the event is still nine months away, the plan is to have whoever doesn't face Undertaker fight each other. So if Undertaker wants to work with John Cena, The Rock would face Brock Lesnar.
http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/ne...emania-29?.htm

I'm actually hoping that it would be the Rock since they never had a pretty high-profile feud before for some reason. At least, he's not facing HHH again.

Does that mean if Take chooses Lesnar that we get the travesty of Rock/Cena again?

I vote anything that doesn't involve that.

Taker choosing Cena is by far the best option. We get the Taker/Cena fued that we've never seen before, plus Rock and Lesnar put on one of my favorite matches ever so I would love to see them have a rematch.

I could live with a Cena vs. Rock rematch if it involves the WWE title and Cena goes over.

I would prefer to see Taker vs Brock next year and then Taker vs Cena at WM30 in his retirement match (assuming Taker can make it that far).

Don't know why people don't want Taker/Lesnar, seems like the best option. Yeah it means we get Cena/Rock 2 but if we have to have a Dwayne match then that would make more sense than the other two options (with Cena going over obv).

I mean Taker/Lesnar would hopefully be good, but it's just another Taker WM match where you can't even suspend disbelief and wonder if Taker might lose. I do think that Taker-Cena would present a Taker loss as a possibility, however remote.

When you don't have an excellent worker like HBK in the ring with him, a Taker match isn't going to be great on workrate so the reliance is on storytelling and psychology. I think Taker/Cena would have that in spades.
