I have little doubt that they could get someone willing to champion his work. Yeah it’s awkward that seemingly everyone who knew him hated him, but there has to be a lot of respect out there too because of his work.

Humble brag: I've got an original Mat Mania arcade PCB as well as it's successor Champion Wrestler. Both are great. If you haven't played Champion Wrestler then give it a try on MAME, you should like it if you like Mat Mania. My personal nostalgic based favourite will always be WrestleFest though.

With that said, I own Mat Mania and I can't even get close to 60 wins on credit, that's pretty impressive haha.

I picked up Saturday Night Slam Masters for SNES a while back. Supposedly it's a lot of fun, but I haven't popped it in yet.

It's a Capcom game that looks good though.

Yeah, had no idea of any health problems, and of course this could have been something sudden, but in any case it was a gut punch to see that hit Twitter. It was like a cheap cardboard sign randomly fell off the wall behind me and caused me to yell "**** it!"

Wiki has Hogan returning to WWF in December 1983 and has Gene returning to WWF "at the end of 1983," so it stands to reason that the pairing may have started up together there.

Gene would have stood a good chance at WOAT anthem to start a WrestleMania, but then Rockin' Robin showed up at WM V to save the day.
