Frankly I think it's as simple as Vince jumped the shark (creatively) about 10 years ago. Maybe 15. And just about everything WWE does goes straight through him.

That said, WWE as a company is basically printing money anyway. Go figure.

Vince doesn't NEED anymore money so he'd rather entertain himself?

fixed.

There are also rumors of Rusev leaving the company soon.
Thanks. Oddly it showed as working on my phone at the time.

Now Rusev has been replaced in this match by Y2J.

Or, considering Rusev is actually the type of guy Vince loves to push, maybe he figures Lana is a weak spot. He puts Rusev in the top spot, but has to release Lana. Maybe he's afraid Rusev leaves too. He's had issues with husband/wife teams before.

Actually he's getting richer by the day. He's a genius businessman (the XFL relaunch notwithstanding). Merchandising, licensing and TV revenues continue to grow (at least this was true when I last looked).

As a creative leader ... he lost the touch a while ago.

(I do think it will get drastically better with HHH totally in charge.)

Rusev is the new Bad News Barrett.

They get the license for the pics straight from magazines and not TNA. The only non-WWE footage of AJ they’ve shown is from ROH and WCW.

That makes sense.

Speaking of TNA, decided to tune in to see what they're doing with all the recent exits. Ten minutes into the show, Big Poppa Pump has a live mic, trash talking with Konan. It's 1998.

And Tommy Dreamer has just appeared in the ring with a kendo stick.

That's incredible.

Although the WWE just had Shane MacMahon, Undertaker, And Triple H wrestle at WM.

So I guess that's about the same thing.

Dreamer could be the single weirdest example of a bad worker getting a push in the history of American wrestling. Many other garbage workers have been pushed, but it's usually not difficult to figure why it's happening. There's usually a look, or noticeable charisma, or...something. I still have no idea how Dreamer was a thing for as long as he was.

Paul Heyman.

(Otherwise I totally agree.)

Seemed like a decent albeit a bit unconventional choice to rep the "every man" gimmick

Mid 90s ECW was a fine home for him, and he was a great character there. Mainly because as a Raven fan, I loved seeing Dreamer lose all the time.

Dreamer was well written and had the personality to pull it off, plus, yeah, that environment where all he had to do was hit people and absorb punishment. He made the most of very little. Unfortunately, his example of a guy who was massively over despite never winning, is how WWE tries to push every guy now (not never winning, but 50/50).

Not sure where else to put it, or if it's too relevant, but...

These Wrestlemania love stories aren't getting a great track record. Randy and Liz were divorced a little over a year after their epic WM VII moment.

And to think, I really thought these crazy kids had a chance and this wasn't a completely manufactured reality tv relationship on par with any of the Bachelor finalists.

At least we got a Wrestlemania Moment out of it!

tbh I'm no relationship expert but whenever I've seen them on Total Divas/Bellas (my gf watches them!) I've always thought they don't go together well at all.

(actually i should say fiance not gf, got engaged a couple weeks before WM which could be a bad sign!)

Congrats tjC!

I've not seen Total Bellas but Total Divas wasn't the worst "reality" show in the world the few times I've watched with my wife.

As a kid, I always thought that their final match at Wrestlepalooza 97 was a spectacular match. I'd record every ECW episode and I must've watched that match at least a few dozen times. However, I watched it again a year or two ago and questioned how I could like it so much . The angle that followed with Lawler is easily one of the best things I've ever seen in wrestling and holds up extremely well.
