Every time Cena loses some report comes out that his merch sales dipped. Wins/losses matter for drawing. Always have. Some guys can take more losses than others, sure, especially underdog face and chicken **** heel types. But none of the guys being talked about really fit either of those molds.

Meh. I can only agree as far as to say that I don't think that people with antiquated views should be pigeonholed as bad people because I do think that it's a powerful thing to be socialized into a certain worldview for 50+ years, but even as the product of two parents with a dad who pulled a paycheck and a mom whose occupation was to raise the kids, it doesn't make a ton of sense to me to care whether or not women outside your family choose to work.

If anyone thinks that wins and losses don't matter, consider how Brock Lesnar is booked compared to everyone else. If he still came out and acted like an animal, but lost half his matches like everybody else, would he still have that same presence and excitement level about him?

I knew Heenan was in bad shape, but I had no idea. This is so sad and yet he still has his wit and sense of humor about him.

Heenan is like the Muppets to me. I didn't really get it back then, but can watch his old stuff all over in a different way and get all the jokes now.

Rollins has main evented all six PPVs since WM. Seems crazy that they seem to be more comfortable with him carrying the show then they ever did with Punk.

I love Heenan as much as anyone, but wouldn't really know how to go about doing a thread in his honor since it wouldn't be match-centered. That would be much better done by someone who has the first clue about video editing, which I don't. Splicing his great lines into a lengthy video would be the best way to pay tribute.

I'm just glad that he got his HOF induction while he could still reasonably talk and still had his quick wit. Like what he said in his own speech, I only wish Monsoon could have been there.

He also main evented Royal Rumble, Survivor Series, and Hell in a Cell. The ones that Rollins didn't main event were main evented by Ambrose and Reigns.

So when wrestling boards were full of "WWE always uses part-timers to main event," I point out that one of The Shield, who made their main roster debut in 2012, have headlined every PPV since Lesnar beat Cena.

Yeah but remember that it's not Rollins' reign vs punks in a vacuum; the writers got to learn from their mistakes with whoever went first. Plus they had the daniel Bryan stuff in the middle.

My point is even though creative is clearly dumb, they do learn from their past experiences.

This technically makes them as smart as velociraptors.

Vince turns 70 today. I didn't think it was worthy of it's own thread but worthy of being mentioned. I know he's in better shape than most 30 years old, but his reign has to be coming to an end soon. Either way Happy 70th birthday to the man who has had me following wrestling for most of my life.

Sting/HHH was perhaps even more ridiculous than Taker/Bork 2. Taker/Sting has potential to be the greatest worst thing ever.

Also lol at Cena using his position to keep the title on his girlfriend. Always thought he didn't get involved much in backstage politics but not sure where I got that from.
