Ok I'll start. Are we just as big of fools for thinking this could be Jericho instead of the Undertaker as we were last year when some thought it could be Sting?

I think January 2 is too early for Taker to return. It could be someone else though I guess

I find it hard to believe Undertaker is doing anything other than showing up a month before WM, getting to 20-0 at WM (probably against HHH ) and then bailing for good. And srsly looooool at anyone thinking the streak will be ended. I said it before but I would bet good money Vince already has ideas for the 20-0 Undertaker DVD and tshirt and promos to sell it.

It almost has to be Jericho. It would be in time for Jericho to have a nice build leading to the Royal Rumble, which hopefully ends in him winning it and facing Punk at mania.

Yeah merchandising for the 20-0 streak is a main reason why it'll never be broken.

Someone posted this on reddit explaining why Kane should face and end Taker's streak. I thought it was awesome.

Taker goes 18-2 and retires, but I'm not saying anything you guys don't already know. I'm more interested in the quality of the match and how long it takes HHH to give Taker his second loss at Wrestlemania.

count me in the camp of the promos being for taker not jericho. the bit about mccool convinced me.

on takers return: he should (but probably wont) go over orton at wm. it not only helps orton, but helps all of smackdown as he is the face of that brand and will almost certainly be getting whc back in the months after wm.

I don't know how anyone thinks Taker will actually lose at WM. It just doesn't make sense to put anyone over that cash cow.

Yeah, there is no need for him to ever lose. To even be involved in a Streak match with Taker is a big enough push. If they could take a young guy (Barrett ideally) and build it just right to some huge match at mania where Taker wins but gets ****ed up in the process, then they'd be on to gold.

But **** off HHH. He could be used as a corporate Heel that the new young kids fued with to give them some credibility and give the roster some ridiculous depth.

Also, in a recent interview Punk said that WWE had plans to reveal the anon GM soon...?

Smackdown Spoilers for tomorrow night:

Quote:
WWE taped the final television broadcast of SmackDown! before this Sunday’s TLC pay-per-view Tuesday from Raleigh, North Carolina. Brian Richey attended the taping — which will air this Friday, December 16, 2011 on SyFy — and sent in the following spoilers from the show:

Booker T was interviewed in-ring by Josh Matthews. Says he’s ready for the match at TLC and teases returning to active competition if he wins the IC Title. Booker says he won’t be Cody’s legitimizer and Rhodes comes out and says he won’t be Booker’s opportunity at one last run. He also says Booker is not allowed to interfere in his match tonight, or else their match is off and he will petition that Booker be suspended.

(1) Cody Rhodes beat Daniel Bryan after he reversed a rollup into a rolling CrossRhodes. He stared down Booker, who was back at the announce desk.

(2) Alicia Fox def. Natalya in a 2-3 minute match with the deadly Hiroshima rollup. She pulled out some of Nattie’s extension and taunted her to cry about it, saying she got out-foxed.

(3) Epico & Primo def. The Usos after Rosa Mendes distracted an Uso when he went to the top rope.

Mark Henry tells Jack Swagger backstage that he’ll get first crack at the WHC if he hurts Show like Show hurt him. Swagger says he’ll do it, but for himself, since he’s actually done what Henry couldn’t – beat Big Show in the past. He says the World Championship is in his future no matter what and Henry walks off in disgust.

(4) Big Show def. Jack Swagger. Henry sat at ringside to watch the match and afterwards hit Swagger with the chair, and then out of nowhere hit a cameraman in the back and walked off while Show and trainers tended to them.

Backstage, Ryder asks if Orton will do the woo woo woo with him. Orton says no, and Ryder asks if he can at least call him “bro.” Orton says maybe.

(5) Ted DiBiase def. Heath Slater. Jinder Mahal attacked DiBiase post-match. Teddy Long came out and said if Mahal wanted to fight, he can fight the guy he has unfinished business with from Monday night – Sheamus.

(6) Sheamus def. Jinder Mahal. Mahal actually got offense in but eventually fell to the Brough Kick.

(7) Randy Orton & Zack Ryder def. Dolph Ziggler & Wade Barrett. Good, solid main. Orton and Ryder tagged more than you’d think and traded the distress role, but finally Ryder dumped Barrett on the outside and Orton hit the RKO on Ziggler to win. Barrett went to break it but Orton stared him down during the pin. Post-match, Barrett stood on the table set up on the outside and he and Orton stared daggers at each other to end the show.
The bolded made me laugh.

Sounds like a somewhat non-descript episode really, but I find that I usually enjoy SD episodes even when I think that upon reading the spoilers.

That SD ep sounds like a pretty piss poor build to the PPV, but spoilers are usually pretty deceptive of what is actually going on.

Fwiw i think Kane should be the guy who gets the honour of the 20th loss in the streak. I cant think of another veteran id trust with the match (Henry would legit kill Taker working overly stiff, lol) or which id like to see (fk having Show or HHH face him) and if they arent going for a young up and comer (they should) then newly remasked Kane is basically the perfect choice.

so no announcement of Cena/Kane at TLC during smackdown?

That seems a bit... odd.

I think Kane breaking the streak would be awesome story wise, but it doesn't make sense to put Kane over like this because where is he gonna go afterwards? Back into mediocrity is my guess.

If Taker's gonna retire at Wrestlemania (whatever year) and never come back, you should end the streak. But that only really works well if he's never gonna be competing in a match again. I'd love that story wise but I just don't see it happening because there's no big upside to having the streak end.

Do you guys think we should have a separate thread for dirstheet stuff and for tv taping spoilers? I love to read the dirsheet stuff and I don't care either way but I can see some people avoiding the tv taping spoilers. They'll get mixed up in this thread.

Actually, as someone who likes reading dirt sheets but wouldn't mind beginning to avoid SD spoilers, I agree with Pete.

It's not like it's any big deal to just make a different thread devoted specifically to taped show spoilers.

Apparently Jericho did an interview where he said Fozzy is recording a new album but it wont stop him from attending Raw tapings

Man, this Y2J stuff better not all be one huge cocktease. If the Royal Rumble ends and we still haven't seen Jericho back in the WWE I'll be so disappointed.
