2016 was a terrible year for many people, but this man had a complete career resurgence by turning back the clock and shaking off the crippling depression that comes with spending years and years in TNAids to become the first ever 2 time NXT champion.

Speaking of people who finally escaped TNAids had a fantastic career resurgence in 2016, this man hit the NXT scene mid year and has constantly been the best part of the show.

Coming in at 11 with 39 points finishing as high as 3 on one ballot is the only positive thing that has come out of the purple mood lighting and rope changing, and just shows you how effective a heel turn on a stale character can be.

If you had told me the last time we did this that this guy would be #9 in 4 months I'd have laughed at you, but he has been the most credible monster the WWE has had since prime Hall of Pain Mark Henry. He also appears to be rapidly improving as a worker faster than anyone could have imagined.
