Ok then well all of my preferences are ITT. We should sort out the timeframe first, I vote for 80s onwards.

So with 80s onwards would we lose guys careers prior to 80 if they wrestled both eras?

I'm always the guy pushing for tag teams to be drafted as one entity

Yes. You'd get them in the condition they were in at the start of 1980.

We can draft tag teams as one entity if everyone wants but I'm not gonna be the guy who decides which teams come as a pair and which don't.

I would say that if you have to even think about it for more than a second then they have to be drafted separately. It's not like we are drafting for a million bucks it's a fun thing

We can set rules on that also I like 75 better than 80 for the cutoff

Like for example would the New Age Outlaws be a draftable tag team? Both are former IC champions and Billy Gunn won the King of the Ring and has been tag champions with other partners but some would argue that they are best known as a team.

I think both of those guys had more than enough singles success to justify making them be drafted separately.

I think it should be a complete no brainer in order for them to be drafted together. Guys with either no singles career or a singles career that was practically nonexistent.

Legion of doom
Demolition
Bushwackers
Goodwins
Usos

Etc

This doesn't really bother me for a couple reasons. Firstly, it affects so few wrestlers. Secondly, it's very common for wrestlers to get big in another federation or territory and step into another with a similar status. And, finally we use a little creative license anyway with people's careers anyway otherwise how could we make sense of a wrestler ' s career if he was a main event eventer in say IWA-Mid-South, started over at ROH and became World Champion, and then started over again in the WWE if we're staying consistent with their entire career path.

I'd rather just draft them individually if we're going to have to decide who a tag team is and who isn't though.

I vote for a start time of 1980.

I mean even Hawk and Animal have both main evented PPVs in world title matches as singles stars, Phineas Godwinn is probably better known as Mideon etc.

I do think it could work but there's a lot of grey area. I realise it's only for fun but I just think it's a hell of a lot easier to draft everyone individually, and ultimately doesn't make much difference as all tag teams usually end up together anyway; it's not like if you take Jimmy Uso someone's gonna snipe Jey.

How about if we make it so that you automatically get the tag team partner 15 picks later or something? That might work

If the issue is fear of getting sniped rather than using 2 picks, I guess we could make it that before the double pick rounds you can pick a tag team with one pick but forfeit your next pick (with maybe a hard rule that neither member can have held a major world title).

Just a suggestion. How about we make a rule that if you draft a tag team as a single entry, then you can never use them as singles. If we do it that way, do we allow for a wrestler to be drafted as a singles and a tag then?

Also on the New Age Outlaws, this one at first was a bit troubling, but then I just thought about it in terms of a promoter. Where did they draw the most money? Separately or together? It isnt even close.

I've always thought established tag teams are overrated anyway. It's a fantasy draft, create your own teams.

diskoteque/co-owner?

I suggest we cap at 10 as the pool won't be as deep as other drafts due to the cutoff.

We still need to decide on (my choices in brackets):

- Time of cutoff (1980)

- Will potential be taken into account for current wrestlers (nope)

- Tag team issue. (lol tag teams)

- random stuff like how much does backstage stuff count, will there be a specified time frame for the promotion etc. (whatever)

I really like this fwiw:

Quote:
I did think of a draft where you draft wrestlers' runs in a company (so Hogan WWF and WCW would be separate picks) but it would probably get too complicated.
A lot different than anything we've done before and doesn't seem that complicated to say Hogan in WWF from 84-93, Hogan 95-01 WCW, Hogan 02 WWE (not sure how long this run was actually, w/e).

Sorry I meant overrated in the drafts not in general. I should have said overvalued. Although fwiw I wasn't but I have caught up on most of the stuff since.

Was just thinking about the 1980s rule. That severely limits how many top guy there are and gives an unfair advantage to the guy picking in the top half of the first round

Well the last draft had 6 guys in the first 3 rounds that had strong pre-1980's careers and that was in a 13-person draft.
