I always enjoyed that original Jericho WCW theme.

I would pay good money to see Savage vs. Jericho.

Randy Savage is the only wrestler I know of to drop an obvious Godfather reference into a promo, when at the 1989 Royal Rumble he was talking about Hogan dumping him out of the match and said "a man in my position can't afford to be made to look ridiculous."

So he probably should have gone #1 overall.

Was between Angle/Hart/Jericho for my 2 picks

I'm gonna talk more about Bruno later on but I don't think he'll be as big a draw as you think due to some things I'll mention in a bit.

(and yeah, I've changed my mind a bit on this in the last couple of years).

when a certain wrestler gets drafted, if you don't use the only acceptable picture for this certain wrestler, you will be immediately banned from the draft.

and it's probably not the person you're thinking of. lkj probably knows who i'm talking about.

I can think of two wrestlers that would apply to.

Oh man I was so pissed when someone said something like "undrafted is the only wrestler to main event in his first WM", and someone posted the guy's name without the pic.

Edit - Actually, just realised I'm probably thinking of a different guy to you. That guy should go undrafted out of principle.

Sorry got caught up doing some stuff.

Cm punk is a very unusual case. He was a huge star in the indies and is the first Indy created star to be come a main eventer in the E.

Punk is a huge draw and a great worker. He isn't a terrible top guy and he is an amazing 2nd guy in the company.

Prolly gonna have him work mostly heel. A feud with Bruno and Punk will draw huge numbers. Punk can carry Bruno to some great matches and the old school / new school storyline would be easy to tell.

I'm gunna have to break the rules a little bit with this pick and select 3 guys all at once. Yolo I guess. I select...

...Mick Foley!

As logical a foil for The Undertaker as I could possibly draft in this spot. Those 2 guys broke so many barriers (to the national audience at least) together that they'd instantly be a headline match for my team. Foley lacks looks, but makes up for it -- in his own words -- with heaps of "intestinal fortitude". While he's not a traditional headline act, he's one of only a handful of guys who can say he headlined a WCW PPV, WWF PPV, and ECW Arena show in the 90s.

Roster:
The Undertaker
Mick Foley

Yeah Foley's not bad here, but what he called it was testicular fortitude.

I think given how many great undrafted are still on the board Foley is somewhat a reach here.

I actually really like the Foley pick. I'll go into more detail later. Btw it's probably just me but I really like the Dude Love theme for whatever reason.

Why would punk/bruno draw huge? Punk's best heeling has always been against anti-heroes, and Bruno is like the total opposite of that.

That was really one of the bigger reasons i took him. There were tons of "big personality" heels I could have (and still could) grabbed later. There are only so many guys willing and able to bump like foley did. Combined with his mic skills, complex character traits, and noterity i felt the pick was a little more justified than some notable undrafted heels.

Foley also went way sooner than this in the last draft (not that, thats really any indication this is a reach or not but it is a point of interest). I wasnt positive hed make round 3, and he was the one heel available i wouldve been upset if i didnt get (a little hard to expand on that point w.o. Naming undrafteds).

Did someone PM therightdeal?

Comment from the peanut gallery: from a fed-building perspective, pairing Undertaker and Foley here is probably going to be problematic, especially if you really actually care about "draw" and such.

Personally, I don't care about draw and I think they're both awesome.

The nice thing about them both (and really, a part of their value) is that they can be exciting and relevant and fun without being anywhere near the belt -- the problem in drafts like this when you take them both is finding a guy in the 3rd round that deserves the belt so that you can take advantage of that benefit.

therightdeal was up at the same time last night and didn't pick until this morning, so we'll prob have to wait. I think he's a Euro.

Got my pick ready but have no idea who I'm gonna take if I get sniped.

If anyone wants someone to consult with feel free to shoot a PM my way. I think this is the first of these I've missed and in my previous ones always did very well.

Gonna make my pick soon. As I said I don't really wanna skip people early but therightdeal has had 14 hours and we can't wait forever...
