I'm mainly agreeing with you here but just wanna point out that while D-Bry was "toiling in bingo halls", he was still getting named best technical wrestler in the world every year by the most respected publication.

Round 1 Pick #13

Spoiler:
#13 Bret Hart

Possibly the best technical wrestler ever to appear in the WWE, Bret Hart is going to be a valuable asset to my Federation. I don't expect him to be the draw of the elite of the elite but I can definitely depend on him to deliver enthralling matches on a weekly basis. Unless of course, my fan base is comprized by thousands of Dylan clones.

Is "best technical wrestler to ever appear in wwe" the new "best big man of all time"?

Decent pick though tbh, I've somewhat come around on Bret.

i took bret hart in two prior drafts and even earlier than where dar0 took him. very underrated draw and obviously an amazing in-ring worker.

As terrible as he is, Bret is obviously fine here.

Bret at least has one big region where he's an absolutely dominant draw. I don't think he's any worse for draw than most of picks 6-12.

Definitely debated Bret and would have been interested in him if he came back.

When it's back on me I'll give gs like 20 minutes to make an offer than ill pick

So underrated in fact, that the one year in the last 106 when there were no USA-based performers in the top ten draws in the world, he just happened to be the top draw in the USA (according to your own link from the last draft).

He's good in the ring, but not the best technical wrestler ever in WWE.

Round 2 Pick #14

Spoiler:

#14 Kurt Angle

Angle is another super versatile wrestler that allows me to draft the best talent available rather than draft for specific need, he works great as both a patriotic face and a dickhead heel. But mostly as a dickhead heel.

great pick

You should have saved your "best ever technical wrestler" line for this pick.

Spoiler:
Would have still been wrong though

Bruno went 28th and 26th in the last two drafts, so this was a big jump for him. I definitely had designs on nabbing him on the way back at #21.

I think the reason he gets more love than other old-timers in drafts is that it takes very little to translate him into modern wrestling as far as ringwork is concerned. He wrestled up until the 80's, nearly overlapping with the WrestleMania era. Wrestlers who thrived like six decades ago were really competing in a different physical activity and it's harder to mentally transplant them into the modern day.

Bruno would probably be no great shakes in the ring today (from what I've watched, he never really was), but he at least looks like he'd easily fall into the "carryable by good workers" category.

13 is fine for Bret. I'm not a big fan of him as a money maker because companies seemed to falter whenever they tried to push him to the top (not entirely his fault of course), and I'd rate his mic skills as closer to "so bad they are good" than good, but he has a lot of value.

And darO specifically went in and took the top two names on my draft board. Bravo, sir.

(Obviously I knew neither Bret nor Angle would be getting back to me at 21.)

By the way, Angle with the elite entrance theme too. Maybe my second-favorite one of any wrestler taken so far. Honorable mentions to Savage and Flair.

I wasn't sure how early bruno had been going cause I haven't done research but I wanted to lock him up because he was the last legit #1 guy left

Let's play name that wrestler.

Had the instrumental version of this theme:

And came out to this one also

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3U_WrLLUkU

and this one also:

The man of 1004 holds who has beaten 1004 wrestlers, best known under this theme:

Spoiler:
I take Chris Jericho. Importantly, this gives me two wrestlers who can do their own promos and matches so writers can't screw them up.
