I'm legitimately conflicted at this spot (would have been even if Austin didn't go there), I'll be pondering but in the meantime I'll be happy to field trade offers. Will get a pick up before the top of the hour if not.

If you're unclear, Austin just went 3rd. But maybe you're offering that to SRM.

Oh, okay. I had written up my pick and was just about to post; glad I checked. You have a deal. Go ahead and pick.

Would have taken Austin at #2. Short peak but probably the best peak in wrestling, a load of my friends who didn't watch wrestling started because of Austin and even those who didn't watch would occasionally throw out the odd Austin catchphrase. Vince has said that he is the most profitable wrestler of all time. Only Hogan comes close and I'd have taken him above Austin as he did it for longer and had a great heel run too.

my view has always been hogan > austin > flair. luckily ive never had to pick in the top 3.

mkind about to make my decision easier i guess.

That is vetoable imo. I'm cool with it though.

I'd have taken Austin at 4th (after some probably unnecessary hemming and hawing) but I wouldn't have loved it and wouldn't have quite known what to do with it. I probably would have wasted his WCW years and hopped straight into his prime, just to make sure that I grabbed a good market share right off and then could hope that I could introduce a good enough product to hold onto business after his ~6 year run.

I mean I definitely think I came out ahead with that trade, but make no mistake that by the time 10 rolls around I won't really have nearly as much of a guaranteed franchise player at the forefront as I could have if I just pulled the trigger on that pick as I was about to. Guess we'll see what's around when 10 hits. I've been slow on the draw and don't have a draft board started as of yet.

Pick 1.04: The Rock

The most electrifying man in ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL of entertainment, and the most universally successful pro wrestler of all time.

In 2001 at WM 17, he was involved in the main event of by far the most profitable wrestling event of all time (at that time). More than 10 years later, he was main eventing WM28 which shattered the records of all the "dome period" WMs that have taken place since. So he was involved in record breaking shows twice.

In 2013, he was the highest paid actor in the WORLD. Suck it, Clooney.

Simply put there was nobody left with anything even close to the drawing power of the great one, making him and easy target to move up for and build the brand around.

Yeah no surprise, I couldn't imagine he'd have been that eager to move up except for The Rock. And that was who I was picking.

Did not know that. Props to the Great One. I wouldn't have taken him here . Certainly a good pick.

I think you have the spreadsheet wrong. We swapped 1,2,6, I didn't straight up give them to him.

I'm used to fantasy football trades where you have to balance the picks, but yes that's what I meant by "swap 1,2,6": swap both our 1,2,6's (since you'd be moving up in the latter 2). If you misunderstood and want out, then you can have The Rock (and use my writeup lol).

Fwiw LKJ edited the spreadsheet. I just glanced at the trade offer ITT then looked at the spreadsheet to see what had happened.
