Hard to fault the pick as it's probably the best WWF title match in WM history. I would put about 10 or so ahead of it for workrate purposes plus I hate the ending, but it's arguably the best main event available.

Rock vs Austin WM 17 is a top 5 match for me. As a pure wrestling match, it's definitely not the best, but my god I love it so much. Possibly the greatest ever two personalities facing off in their best match. WWE title matches might be one of the deeper options, but can't fault the pick!

Only one other match came to me as "obvious number one contender." Other one may have deeper cultural impact, but IMO, Austin/Rock is a wrestling fan's top pick.

Austin v. Rock is a fine choice given the title limitation, it has a strong case for best WWF/WWE Title match in WrestleMania history. There have been better overall matches, but title matches are at a premium early.

That's one of my favourite matches of all time when you include the build and storyline. I definitely would have taken it #1 overall. Nice pick.

When I think of a dream Wrestlemania it involves the WWE title match going on last with the build and match itself being strong enough to not be overshadowed no matter how strong the undercard is. That was a huge problem with WM X8 and WM25 imo which meant that the main events were flat and anti-climatic as they both followed all-time classic matches. Rock and Austin headlined arguably the best Wrestlemania ever and despite a great undercard they managed to take the PPV to another level. There are better Wrestlemania matches but Rock/Austin at the peak of their popularity for the WWE title is the perfect match to close out a dream WM.

All righty, then, my turn? I might be shooting myself in the foot, for outing all the other great HBK matches, but I'm going to choose, probably my personal favorite match of all time, which is the WM 20 main event of HBK vs HHH vs Benoit for the World Heavyweight Championship.

I had that as my top-rated World Heavyweight Title match, but it does come with a cost to knock all three of those wrestlers off of the rest of your card rather than just losing two. Fine pick for now, but I'm glad not to have made it myself since it would kill a decent chunk of my draft board.

For the first match on my card (#3 pick overall), I select:

Hulk Hogan (c) vs Andre The Giant - WWE Title Match (Wrestlemania 3)

Yeah, this is certainly not the third greatest match in Wrestlemania history. Hell, if we were going on match quality and workrate alone it might not even feature in this draft at all. However this is probably the biggest drawing match in Wrestlemania history and I am ecstatic to have it at the top of my card; I'd have picked this match at #1 overall. I'm sure everybody reading this has seen it so the match doesn't really need explaining, but here is the match in case you want to see it again:
