It's also keeping on people to draft, enforcing skips, troubleshooting when needed etc ... and unless I'm at work I'm not online so I go for stretches of anywhere from 16 hours to multiple days.

wait, im the only person who did a write-up?

lol @ me... feel free to edit that out if it makes it easier to go through.

looking forward to see the other cards now, was pretty surprised i wasnt alone in several picks, in particular someone else was on warrior/hogan (pretty sure ill give that a vote for that alone)

God, this was brutal to judge ... if I look at this again next week I may come up with a different top 3 entirely ...

3. LKJ
2. littlekeed
1. derwipok

I ranked every card on a 1-100 scale with each match being eligible for 10 points. the top three points were 82-80-79 with two at 78 and three at 77.

really hard to rank them as they are all so similar and almost all are great

these stood out to me...

littlekeed
truenorth
lkj
spring83
derwipok

sigh i guess ill go

3. littlekeed
2. spring83
1. truenorth

so hard tho. a lot of cards i docked due to ordering that they didnt even do... im a pretty strong believer in championship matches getting bigger throughout the night and the final match being for the wwf/e belt

well i can't really bring myself to vote for littlekeed's since he has an invalid card imo

my top 5 are truenorth, lkj, spring83, yankees316 and deriwpok. i am very biased towards lkj's card as it has 8/10ths overlap with my original before i changed direction (primarly to include Razor, more bias!) all are great though. yankees wins overall imo.

3. derwipok
2. lkj
1. yankees316

I really wanted to get Foley/Edge on my card. That match is the perfect example of how you can have amazing storytelling in a hardcore match.

that was my ranking 3rd to 1st place... so it would be

1. yankees (3 points)
2. ljk (2 points)
3. derwi (1 point)

Raw Scores:
derwipok: 86.5
Dylan: 86.5
True North: 86.5
tpir: 86.5
ucaclint: 86.5
littlekeed: 86.5 (IC title overlap)
diskoteque: 86
rublicious: 86
teejayC: 85.5
yankeys: 85.5
qbler: 85
dnkyhunter: 84 (disqualified)
DWetzel: 83.5
Antidan: 83.5 (ineligible)
eternalrage: 83
Judy: 82
spring83: 81.5
thediceman: 81
Eskimo: 80.5 (IC title overlap)

So it’s all razor-thin for me and there’s a logjam at the top. The people tied for 9th are a point out. But rather than pain myself with counting the intangibles of those four who barely missed the cut on raw score, I’ll just use the slight point edge to dump them for top three voting purposes. All very good entries though. And I’m dumping keed from the running for my vote for the IC title overlap.

So that leaves five to go on and try to poke flaws in.

derwipok: one match, Orton vs. Punk, had no underlying angle, and was fine in the ring but just has absolutely no meaning in the big picture. It didn’t really have any meaning even when it was happening. Also think Austin-Rocky from XIX, while good, just falls victim to comparisons. It’s well down the power ranking list of WWE Title matches at WM.

Dylan: ditto what I said about Austin-Rocky from XIX on derwi’s card, but Cody-Rey seems to be this card’s answer to derwi’s Orton vs. Punk, and it’s superior. So Dylan’s entry > derwi’s by a nitpicking margin.

True North: Rock & Sock vs. Evolution? I dunno. Feels more like jamming names onto the card rather than trying to get an optimal match in that spot. Still, 9/10 of this card is downright pristine.

tpir: I can’t poke holes in any individual match here at all, but I will say that HBK-Razor definitely loses value alongside the bigger spotfest ladder matches. On raw score it goes really well, but when put after Money in the Bank and TLC there’s just no way for it to look that elite. That and just having three ladder matches in general hurts the score.

ucaclint: great card, but Lashley-Umaga? Ehhh…put it this way, Cody/Rey > Rock & Sock-Evolution > Orton/Punk > Lashley-Umaga.

This is all very arbitrary, but here goes:
1. Dylan (3 points)
2. True North (2 points)
3. tpir (1 point)

I think I was doling out 10/10 to only these matches:
Hogan-Andre
Savage-Steamboat
Bret-Owen
Bret-Austin
HBK-Taker
Austin-Rock (WM 17)

I was giving 9.5/10 to Savage/Warrior and TLC II. I think everything else was getting below 9.5.

i almost did a write up for mine as "LadderMania" with climbing to the top being a theme blah blah blah. i fully realize it is absurd and if anything i should have put HBK/Razor first since it kind of sets the stage and pioneered that style of match.

i like austin/rock from 19 a lot and think it is underrated since it was non-title.

To give my card a bit of a write-up:
1. US title: Big Show vs. John Cena (20)
2. MITB: CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho vs. MVP vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. John Morrison vs. Carlito vs. Mr. Kennedy (24)
3. Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin (13)
4. Vince McMahon vs. Shane McMahon (17)
5. European title: Triple H vs. Owen Hart (14)
6. Tag titles, ladder match: Edge/Christian vs. Dudley Boys vs. Hardy Boyz (16)
7. IC title: Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat (3)
8. Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock (18)
9. WWE title: Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar (19)
10. Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker (25)

Open the show with two up-and-coming stars, Cena and Punk, getting their biggest early spotlight. Cena's first title and Punk's first MITB that led to his first world title.

Then we move onto the amazing Bret-Austin match, which the crowd loves but also ends with a heel response as the crowd turns on Bret. Pick the crowd back up with the Vince-Shane brawl and that awesome corner-to-corner high spot. A minor title match follows between two good workers as Triple H retains dirty in a match that slightly upsets the crowd. But back up we go, because it's time for the Attitude Era's three great teams to draw swords and put on a show. While the WM 16 match lags behind the WM 17 thing by a bit, it's still awesome and isn't that far behind.

The action doesn't stop, as Savage and Steamboat hit the ring and go at a frantic pace, with the feel-good Steamboat win finishing things off. Hogan-Rocky pits generation vs. generation, a hot mixed crowd and one of the most epic nostalgia moments ever as the crowd re-embraces Hogan.

Angle vs. Lesnar is an excellent match. Granted I sort of hate that my WWE Title match is at most the 4th best match on this card and has at most the 4th highest stature (it's probably lower than that on both counts), but the match is still great. Then close out the show with the awesome Taker-HBK classic. It may no be quite as good as Bret-Austin, but it's a match you can end a show on where you just can't end a show on the way that Bret-Austin ends.

It's a very difficult thing to pace that many elite matches, but I do think I basically have them in the right order. If you can get past my WWE Title match being a middling match rating-wise on my card I do think mine stacks up well.

I was close to going with Flair/Savage at WM VIII as my WWE Title match. I'll go ahead and nominate that one for most underrated match in WM history.

Flair/Savage is certainly great. I don't know that it's necessarily underrated; it feels like it gets a good bit of love.

Like certainly if you look at the first 16 WrestleManias, Flair-Savage is right there in the top three of WWE Title matches with Hogan-Andre and Bret-HBK. Maybe Hogan-Savage sneaks in there too.

Was I the only one that had this match? Was one of my favorite matches as a kid.

Quick writeup of my card. I'll try and do the others later today.

1. Ricky Steamboat vs. Matt Borne (1)

Meh. This was the final match I put on my card and is just a space filler. I'm not of the opinion that every single match on the card needs to be great and therefore don't like the rating system of rating each match out of ten and adding up the totals. Anyway, solid enough match that I mainly picked to get Steamboat on the card as well as give my card more variety by including a match from the first Wrestlemania. I generally like the way Dan ordered my card but I would probably swap my first two matches around in order to get the crowd hotter from the start.

2. IC/Euro titles, two falls: Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho (16)

Really good technical match to get the crowd into my show. Gets three great wrestlers and two titles onto my card. I love the simple but effective booking of Angle losing both titles without getting pinned or taping.

3. WWE women’s title: Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James (22)

By far the best women's match available and I think having a women's match is a nice change of pace. Again, not every match needs to be five stars. Match had a really good build too; I thought Mickie was great with this gimmick.

4. Ultimate Warrior vs. Randy Savage (7)

Technically it's no Savage/Steamboat but the storytelling here is great and seemed like a no brainer after I insta decided I wanted Hogan/Andre. Nice feel good moment at the end too.

5. Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio (21)

I've already stated my thoughts on this one. Just seemed to slot in nicely.

6. WWE tag title TLC: Dudley Boyz vs. Edge & Christian vs. Hardy Boyz (17)
7. Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart (13)
9. Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels (25)

I've grouped these three together because they're all fantastic matches and I don't feel the need to go through them individually. These were the second, third and fourth matches (in no order) I picked, and I built the rest of the card around these and the main event.

8. The Rock vs. John Cena (28)

Once in a lifetime, baby! Okay, you probably didn't like this match. I didn't either. The thing is, I'm also trying to cater my card towards the casual fan, and they loved this one. Adds a lot to the drawing aspect of my card (although it arguably doesn't need it because of my main event), and gets two top stars onto my card. With two matches left to pick it was basically either pick two random midcard matches or pick one of the biggest matches in Wrestlemania history. Also, I'm not really a great fan of referring to Meltzer ratings, but he gave the match three and a half stars, which suggests that it wasn't as badly received in general as it was in these parts.

10. WWF title: Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant (3)

This is the biggest match in wrestling history and I've have picked it ahead of anything else. This is obviously only my opinion but I feel that any card being judged as the "best" has to have this match on it. There is plenty of room for great technical wrestling elsewhere. Also I like to have the WWF title as my main attraction.

In conclusion, the only thing I'd have changed if I did it again was replace Steamboat/Borne, but I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it. I think I have a great mix of five star matches and huge drawing power and my card would be a huge hit with smarks and marks alike.

Just for the record, Dan has stated numerous times that match order shouldn't be taken into consideration.

Not that I particularly care but I don't see how you can have TN #1 and not have me in the top five. I mean our cards are basically the same.
