I assume he meant Steamboat/Savage since he went with another IC title match instead.

This was exactly my reasoning for not including the WMX ladder match in the end. It would have looked out of place and a bit quaint compared to the matches they were doing 5, 10, 15 years later. I wanted to have TLC II on the card, so HBK/Razor went.

i like that he declared his win so fast that he could not have possibly read the other entries. like i said earlier, zzzzz fantasy team bias. although i guess he didn't read his own entry and/or the rules. oops!

it just fit perfectly with everything else and was a great way to get Eddie on the card. i don't know if it has to do with the match itself (although i did like the match.)

Everyone was looking for that kind of an opener. Perfect/Owen (as Blazer) got five picks (including by me).

I personally like the idea of leading the card with MITB 24 (and then putting the WM 17 TLC tag match on like seventh or eighth).

Everyone is going to think their card is the best otherwise they'd have submitted a different card (assuming everyone knew all the matches available). If everyone honestly picks their top three other cards then it will be a good indicator of which cards are objectively the best.

I'm not at a computer right now but I'll get my votes in tomorrow, as well as maybe a bit of a writeup. I believe at least one of my choices requires some explaining.

Yeah this. It's a nice little match that wasn't for a title, was on a card with no truly great matches (except HBK/Angle but HBK was better used elsewhere), and featured two top stars who weren't otherwise used by most people.

lol, well that isn't true at all.

even if everyone knew all of the matches they might have overlooked a better combination (and not take this so seriously they are able to see through their own bias) and recognize a better card when they see it.

maybe i am crazy though and am the only one who did this for fun and not to declare I WIN on a dying internet message board about wrestling.

Lmao. I don't care about winning either, was just pointing out it wasn't so crazy for him to think his card is best (plus it felt like he was kinda kidding anyway).

that is a good top 3. i have always been a big fan of 17, 18 and 19 as a unit.

Really? I've always thought 18 is just way overrated. Totally forgettable aside from Rock/Hogan.

Yeah 18 was meh except for Hogan/Rock. 19 and 20 were both really good though.

Btw I could've sworn that tpir post said something different at the end which inspired my "lmao". The quote reads the same as his post though so maybe I'm just going crazy (I'm pretty wasted so it could be that). Dude seems pretty mad recently anyway.

21 is a really good Mania too, for HBK-Angle and Taker-Orton if nothing else.

21 was pretty solid but I put a lot of weight into the main event and HHH vs Batista was, well, HHH vs Batista.

it isn't that great but the period of WWE from WM 15-20 is kind of my sweet spot so i will always be biased towards those.

I'm blatantly seeking antidan's vote by having every one of his top four Mania matches (Hulk/Andre, HBK/Taker, TLC II, and Bret/Austin) on my card.

TrueNorth,

Your card is getting consideration from me. I'm having a tough time picking a top 3 (let alone ranking them 1-2-3) because there's about a half-dozen that are razor close.

By the way, I'm going to have the SummerSlam Challenge until about 2-3 weeks before this year's SummerSlam ... you know, if this forum still exists.

On a side note, I have an idea for a draft but don't have time to run it. An American supercards/PPVs draft. Whoever compiles the best list of 8-10 supercards wins. Thinking reverse snake format (ABBABABABA) although it might be deep enough for regular snake. Keep Japanese/Mexican cards out, allow WWE/WCW/NWA/ECW/TNA/ROH etc. cards.

Also tried a few months ago to create a "build a wrestler's moveset" draft but the challenge is coming up with the "base" moveset every wrestler gets, and also the issue that some wrestlers are superheavyweights and some are cruiserweights (and having either do moves better suited for the other would be an issue).

Running it doesn't take much as long as you create tons of bright-line rules and don't leave room for having to make many judgment calls. It's mostly randing the order, making a spreadsheet, and off we go.

(Which is to say that I could do it I suppose, but I end up doing almost all of them and I never exactly want to.)
