I'm going to be biased here. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chael Sonnen. I think he's the greatest thing in MMA. His promos are the greatest thing ever.
Sonnen is a big star in UFC and he's on the verge of being a superstar. Provided he beats Mark Munoz on Fox, his rematch with Anderson Silva is going to be awesome.

I'm wondering how Sonnen would be if he was in pro wrestling? I think he is as good as the rock when it comes to promos. He's funny as hell and doesn't take himself too seriously. Would he have been a main eventer and be a huge star in pro wrestling or is MMA where he would find the most fame?

granted i haven't followed wrestling since the wwe was wwf, but isn't he a bit small?

Sonnen is the most awesomest in all of mma and as he says, never piss off a gangster.

WWE has moved away over the years of roided up guys being on top (mainly due to bad PR/wrestler deaths and steriod allegations etc). A lot of smaller guys are main eventers now.

Small guys like reality star the Miz and Rey Mysterio have found fame being the world champ. I think Chael is in a league way above anyone in the WWE roster now when it comes to promo ability.

Sonnen takes himself way too seriously, as a matter of fact. He's a typical "tough guy attitude" who happens to be a sick, sick fighter. His interview on OTR was one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen. I mean, granted Michael Landsberg can be a tool sometimes, but everything he asked was pretty standard and he wasn't happy with Sonnen's cliche answers. Sonnen walked out like a bitch.

Pro wrestling requires a lot more outside the ring than MMA. He might be the best fighter in the world but if he cant take direction and kiss ass with the best of them he wouldnt make it to the top.

His Q&A posted above is pretty great, but its him being him saying what he wants, very different to reading a scripted worked promo, and ego is the second biggest career killer in pro wrestling behind literally dying.

There's no way he actually believes everything he says. It's just his way of promoting himself. For example during a press interview he said something along the lines of (regarding Anderson Silva) where he comes from anyone who beats up the other guy for 24 min and the other guy wraps his legs around him for 3 seconds, the guy who beats up the other guy for 24 mins wins the fight.

This was in response to his loss to Silva. Now obviously he knows that Silva beat him fair and square with regards to the rules. He cannot deny that, but he's just cutting a promo to promote himself and to turn it on when the cameras are on him.

Sonnen is really good at promoting himself, but I can't see him thriving in the current WWE 'PG' era. He just won't be allowed to go after guys like he does with Silva.

Would he have been great in the attitude era? Absolutely.

Sonnen is a clown, but if he bulked up a bit he'd make a legit WWE main eventer.

If there's one thing the man is it's entertaining (although mostly because I want to see him get KTFO'd)
