Favorite move was always the Sharpshooter because Bret was my guy and because I loved the story telling aspect of it. You had the leg grab, which built the suspense and gave a chance for a reversal/struggle spot. Then you have the actual move which looked clean and gave the "get to the ropes" drama spot, plus as a kid I thought it would hurt like hell.
In terms of wrestling history and moves that don't work now, I love Jerry Lawler's Piledriver. It was illegal in Tennessee according to the athletic commission when he wrestled (because the promoters had told them to make it so). Opponents sold it like it would kill them, so when they did the ref distraction spot or ref bump and Lawler got ready to do the piledriver, you can read about the air leaving the arenas. Like most things, it's mostly ruined now (with
some notable exceptions), but that's a cool story I've always liked.
